Tamala Edwards Lugrine is an American TV personality, anchor, and correspondent who began her career in 1993 as a staff writer and reporter for Time Inc. She focused on politics, education, and social issues.

From 1995 to 1997, Edwards worked as a correspondent in Time's Washington bureau, covering Bob Dole's presidential campaign, politics, society, and breaking news. In addition, she covered the 1996 and 2000 presidential elections. In 2000, she also talked about former Vice President Al Gore's campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Edwards worked for Time Inc. for over eight years before leaving in 2001. She then joined ABC News Correspondents in October 2001. 

During her time there, she was a World News Now and World News This Morning anchor, an undercover journalist during the Gulf War, and Good Morning America and World News Weekends correspondent. Edwards left the media production after working for over three years in January 2005. 

The same month, she landed a job at WPVI-TV/6abc and has worked there since. She began co-anchoring Action News Mornings from 4 a.m. to 7 a.m. on weekdays and is a co-host of Inside Story. She also conducts detailed interviews with newsmakers like Governor Senator Bob Casey, Mayor Michael Nutter, Tom Corbett, and others and moderates many election debates.

She attended Bellaire High School from 1985 to 1989. After that, Edwards earned an honors bachelor of arts degree in international relations from Stanford University, graduating in 1993.

Edwards's parents were among the first African-Americans to purchase Riverside Terrace in Houston. Her father works as a banker, and her mother is a stay-at-home parent.

Husband

Edwards has been married to her husband Rocco Lugrine since 2006. The couple got married in Rome, Italy. In an interview with Philadelphia Magazine in 2020, she mentioned they met while working on a story.

"I went to a bakery to take a chocolate class. The pastry chef's name was Rocco. I was expecting someone older and European. Instead, it was this really handsome 33-year-old who had been the pastry chef at Le Bec-Fin," Edwards said.

Rocco Lugrine has been working as an Eas coast technical advisor for Barry Callebaut Group, one of the world's largest chocolate companies, since 2007. Previously, he worked as a pastry chef instructor at Art Institute from 2008 to 2017 and as a corporate pastry chef at Le Bec Fin Restaurant from 2007 to 2009.

On 15 September 2019, Edwards shared a photo of their wedding day and celebrated her 13th wedding anniversary with her husband. 

The couple is proud parents of two young sons. Their first son, Rocco Alexander Edwards Lugrine, was born on 1 September 2009. Unfortunately, Edwards had a miscarriage two years later, which she only shared through Instagram on 2 October 2020. 

However, Edwards gave birth to her second son, Massimo John Edwards Lugrine, on 11 September 2012.

And as of 2022, she has not updated on her personal status, so as to she is still married.
