Who is Paulina Gretzky?

Paulina Mary Jean Gretzky's birthday falls on 19 December. She was born five months after her parent's wedding in 1988 in Los Angeles, California. Her father, Wayne Gretzky, is a Canadian hockey legend, while her mother, Janet Jones, is an American actress and model. 

Gretzky's family relocated to New York when her father began playing for the New York Rangers. She completed her high school at Nightingale-Bamford School, New York City. After that, she was accepted to the School of American Ballet, but she chose to omit college and pursue a career in the music industry.  

In 2005, she landed her first modeling contract. She posed for the August 2005 edition of Canadian magazine Flair the same year, while her mother appeared on the same cover in 1988. 

In addition, she began her singing career much earlier, performing 'I Will Remember You' at the Heritage Classic in 2003. The following year, she performed the Canadian national anthem at Toronto's 2004 Hockey World Cup.

Furthermore, she released her first single, 'Collecting Dusk' in 2006. It was later taken as the feature song for the MTV reality series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County.

In addition, in 2021, the People reported Gretzky shared the reason behind her nine-long year's courtship. She explained that both wanted to wait until they were ready and professionally accomplished. 

"I just did things my own way, I just didn't want to listen to how everyone else viewed things. I fell in love with someone so fast and we just had the best thing that's ever happened to us happen so quickly."

She further added about supporting each other in their dreams before getting officiated, "I needed to be there for him to support him and love him and make sure he is accomplishing what he needed to do."
