Mouna Esmaeilzadeh was born in 1980 in Iran. At the time of her birth, her parents were involved in the democratic and freedom movements against the Iranian government. It led them to flee their country and take asylum in Sweden when she was only three years of age.

Other details about her childhood years are not available on authentic internet sources. However, in her youth, she developed an interest in arts and thus studied music in school and college. 

She also studied natural sciences and later completed her Master's degree in Philosophy. Furthermore, Mouna enrolled in Karolinska Institutet and studied medicine.

Mouna has been married to her husband, Rasmus Ingerslev, a fitness entrepreneur. He is the founder and owner of several fitness companies in Denmark, including Wexer, specializing in virtual fitness technology. Moreover, he established the first chain of low-budget clubs in Denmark.

She has not disclosed her love life and marriage date in the media. However, according to Rasmus's Instagram post dated 2 August 2019, the pair first met sometime in 2011. They exchanged vows after two years in 2013.

The same post suggests the couple has two children. Their first baby, a daughter, was born in 2014, and they welcomed their second child, a son, in 2016.

Mouna's family includes her parents and her only sibling, Saeid Esmaeilzadeh. Although she has not disclosed the names of her father and mother, she regularly shares about them on her social media handles.

On 7 February 2021, she posted an old family picture of the Esmaeilzadehs. Alongside the picture, she wrote a detailed story about her family's struggle through their journey as refugees.

As per the post, her parents were freedom fighters in Iran and were persecuted by the then government. Thus, they had to flee their own country and take asylum. She once again thanked the Swedish people for allowing them to live and prosper in their country.
