Melissa Magee is an NBC4 meteorologist who appears on weekday newscasts at 5 p.m., 7 p.m., and 11 p.m.

Who is Melissa Magee?

Magee is an American meteorologist, reporter, and anchor. She began her news career in 2001 with ABC station KDUH-TV in Nebraska, where she worked as a reporter and weekend evening anchor. She then worked for four years at KBAK-TV in Bakersfield, California, as a reporter, weekend anchor, and weather anchor.

In 2006, she joined AccuWeather in State College, Pennsylvania, and the New York FOX station WNYW-TV in 2008. After that, Magee was a weekend meteorologist at WPVI-TV/6abc in Philadelphia for 11 years. 

While there, she covered the Nor'easter, 2009's most powerful storm. Magee also discussed the devastation caused by Superstorm Sandy in Philadelphia, Delaware, and New Jersey and hosted various entertainment and lifestyle shows. She left the network in 2020 after eleven years as a weekend meteorologist.

The same year, Magee landed a job as a meteorologist in NBC 4 and started appearing on weekday newscasts at 5 p.m., 7 p.m., and 11 p.m. Since then, she has co-hosted NBC4's Celebrating Black Excellence, a 30-minute special commemorating Black History Month. Magee was also frequently featured in NBC4's public service announcements, which helped raise awareness of various regional causes.

Besides her meteorology career, Magee also volunteers at nonprofit organizations that help young women gain confidence and success.

Melissa Magee was born in LA, California. Her date of birth is 11 November 1979. 

Magee graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in English and a minor in French and has a Broadcast Meteorology Certificate from Mississippi State University. She is fluent in French.

Family

According to a 2010 article from News-Times, Magee is the daughter of Thomas and Denise Raiford of New Milford and Randy and Suzanne Magee of Highland, N.Y.

On 10 May 2020, she wished her mom on Instagram on the occasion of mother's day. She wrote, "I don't know about you, but it's been my experience that moms have this insane super power type strength to get things done with grace, determination & unconditional love. Happy Mother's Day to my Mommy & all of the Moms Today!"

Magee also shared a picture with her dad on father's day on 21 June 2020. She captioned the photo, "Happy Father's Day to my dad and all the dads today: the ones still with us & those we've lost along the way."

In 2020, Magee returned to Los Angeles to her family after being away for 11 years.

Dating Life: Ronnie Schlemmer and Perry O’ Hearn

Magee was first married to Ronnie Schlemmer. The couple tied the knot on 16 May 2010, in Danbury at Anthony's Lake Club. Ronnie worked at Shepard's Warehouse in Bethel at the time of their wedding. However, the couple later parted ways. 

Following Magee's divorce with Ronnie, she began a new relationship with Perry O' Hearn, a fitness instructor, in 2014. The pair met at Perry's fitness center, Philly Fitness, while Magee was there to train. After dating for a while, Magee and Perry got engaged on 27 July 2016. 

Perry proposed to her in July 2016 when they were on vacation in Hawaii. However, Perry left her and married Nichole-Lee Mace on 3 September 2018.

Perry holds a B.S. in electrical engineering and is a certified personal trainer through the American Academy of Personal Training. In addition, he is also a certified MMA strength and conditioning coach.
