The two share a son named Jake Genachowski. Unfortunately, their marriage, too, couldn't sustain long. The pair split up in 1997, following a six-year-long marriage. In the same year, Raddatz married her current/third spouse, Tom Gjelten, a religion and belief journalist for National Public Radio.

In the interview, Gjelten talked about how he arranged his bus ride to Martha. However, the travel did not go as expected, resulting in Raddatz passing by the front line of the war area. Notwithstanding, Raddatz made her way into the city, where she "totally chewed him out," as Gjelten put in the interview.
