Further, he was also on the television series Everybody Hates Chris, then in 2008, he was in Meet the Browns, and its subsequent series Meet the Browns, where he appeared as Curtis Payne.

Prominently, Davis is known for his role of Curtis Payne on the show House of Payne, where he appeared alongside Cassi Davis. He landed the role in 2006 and since then has appeared in ten seasons of the show.

The main characters were Curtis Payne, his wife Ella Payne, and their son Calvin and nephew C.J. Payne. The story entailed their difficulties as a family. The show was on-again-off-again for several years, but in 2020 and 2021, they introduced their ninth and tenth season.
