Kweilyn Murphy is a Pittsburgh native broadcast journalist, weather reporter, and meteorologist. At present, she is associated with ABC11 as a member of their First Weather Team.
Murphy has not disclosed any details of her early life, parents, birthday, and age in public. However, as per her interview with neworleans.com in July 2016, she grew up with her grandmother. She also talked about how she developed an interest in meteorology from a very young age.
When Murphy was only six years old, her grandmother put her to bed and turned off all the lights whenever there was a storm. Afterward, she would turn on the radio and listen to weather reports. Eventually, she discovered her love for journalism and studied Broadcast Journalism at Ohio University.
Immediately after graduating college, Murphy officially kick-started her TV career as a news producer at WQED Multimedia in Pittsburgh. After that, in 2013, she joined the NBC affiliate channel WDSU in New Orleans, where she initially worked as a weekend meteorologist.
