Kelsi Reich is an American real estate professional and former cheerleader. She is also recognized for getting a football from her then-boyfriend, football wide receiver David Nelson, after pulling off a touchdown in a game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Who is Kelsi Reich?

Born on 26 November 1989 in Houston, Texas, Kelsi Reich is a former cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys. She graduated with a bachelor of business administration degree in marketing from Dallas Baptist University in December 2011.

Her journey to becoming Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader began at age 17 following her participation in a national dance competition. After the show concluded, Reich was approached by one of her judges, a former DCC and recruiter Shelly McCaslin, to audition to be a DCC. However, she waited for a year to be eligible to pursue a career as a cheerleader.

Reich started working as a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys in May 2008. Four years later, she left the DDC and the Cowboys organization. 

After that, Reich worked as a field reporter for CW33 from August 2012 to June 2013. She also worked as a spokesperson for Tailgate Rivals Fox Sports Southwest and served in client services at Bar Method during that time. 

Simultaneously, in 2013, Reich was a marketer and broadcaster at Next Level Athlete for the early six months and an instructor at Dancin’ Bluebonnets-Dance Studio for the later four months.

From August 2014 to February 2015, Reich taught English to children at Hope St. and Divine Grace orphanages in Gonaives, Haiti. She also worked as a general store manager, barista, and barre instructor before becoming a Realtor® at Signature Properties Group, Inc. in November 2019. 

According to her LinkedIn bio, Reich has also served as a planner, coordinator, and designer for Brooks Collective LLC on a contract basis since November 2016.

Proposal

Reich once dated David Nelson, a former football wide receiver for Buffalo Bills. In 2011, Nelson planned to surprise Reich if he scores a touchdown against the Cowboys. 

In an interview, Nelson said that his planning would not be a proposal but something special that hadn’t been done before. He set a touchdown in the second quarter of the game and subsequently ran steadily along the sidelines until he found Reich, who was working as a cheerleader for the Cowboys at the time. 

Nelson embraced her and gave her the scoring ball. Cameras on the stadium captured the entire scene, and the couple became the subject of national headlines.

David Nelson

Reich’s then-boyfriend Nelson was born on 7 November 1980 in Texas to his parents Karen and Roy Jr. He played college football as a receiver for the University of Florida, where he became two-time BCS National Champion.

Nelson began his professional football career after being signed by the Buffalo Bills in 2010. He scored his first career touchdowns from football quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in 2010. After playing for the Buffalo Bills for three seasons, he signed with the New York Jets in 2013. 

Nelson was released from the team in 2014. The following year, the Pittsburgh Steelers signed him. He subsequently suffered a shoulder injury at his first practice.

Later, he married Madison Sadri in 2017, and they welcomed their two children.

Wedding/Marriage

Despite famously dating Nelson, Reich parted ways with the football player. She later dated her future husband, Taylor Brooks, for a few years before their marriage. 

Reich and Brooks married in a wedding ceremony in February 2016. The couple together has one child.
