Jason Maltas is the former husband of top American real estate agent Tracy Tutor.

Who is Jason Maltas?

Jason Maltas is an American construction professional who earned a bachelor's degree in business from Arizona State University in 1993.

Unfortunately, there is no information about his birthdate and early life, as he has maintained a low profile regarding his background, ethnicity, and childhood. 

Maltas was interested in construction and real estate from the start of his career. He started working for Cross Creek Development while still a student. 

In 1995, he joined Chipley Construction before starting his own company, Trason Builders Inc., in 2004. The corporation was established in Sylmar, a community in northern Los Angeles, according to records available on the California Secretary of State website.

In addition, Maltas was also the president of Gordon Gibson Construction, a Southern California-based company that specializes in custom luxury homes. He builds homes in Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Malibu, Brentwood, Santa Monica, and the Pacific Palisades. 

He was previously the company's vice president before being promoted to president in 2017.

His Ex-Wife Tracy Tutor

Maltas was formerly married to American television personality and real estate agent Tracy Tutor. The two started dating in the early 2000s before getting married in 2004. They have two daughters together, Juliet and Scarlett.

Tutor is a real estate agent of Bravo's reality TV series Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, where Maltas has also made a few appearances. She joined the cast for the show's tenth season in 2018.

In addition to that, she also hails from a real estate background. Her father is the business tycoon Ronald Tutor and she was born and raised in Los Angeles. Her father is the cofounder of Tutor-Saliba construction company and her grandfather A.G. Tutor founded the real estate company named A.G. Tutor in 1949. 

Followed by that, on the tenth season of the show, Tutor had stated on that she was struggling to balance work and family life. As a result, by the end of the tenth season, it was revealed that she and Maltas had divorced.

Divorced and Property Settlements

Maltas and Tutor had been married for 13 years and had been together for 17 years before parting ways in 2018.

According to court documents gathered by The Blast, Tutor filed for divorce with Maltas in early 2018, citing "irreconcilable differences." 

Tutor was given the family home as part of the divorce settlement. The house is in Brentwood and has an upscale Los Angeles neighborhood with nearly 11,000 square feet of living space.

Tutor purchased the house in 2009 for $13.5 million, but it is unknown if Maltas was a co-owner. Tutor has since sold the property initially listed for $23.9 million first. However, after a few months on the market, she later accepted a lower offer and sold it for $19.66 million in September 2019.

In addition, Tutor maintained a Cadillac Escalade and a Range Rover in the divorce. Maltas had a wine collection, snowboards, James Dean and Steve McQueen photos, and a pistol case. His name is also on the registration of a Porsche Cayenne.

Their Prenuptials and Child Custody

The former couple had a prenuptial agreement saying neither would receive child or spousal support. They also concurred that their two daughters, Scarlett and Juliet, would not be part of the Million Dollar Listing filming show. 

Moreover, Maltas and Tutor agreed to split physical and legal custody of their two daughters and not be under the usage of drugs or alcohol during their custody time.

According to Bravo TV, the former couple's primary focus remains on their two daughters, and they are both committed to co-parenting. In addition to that, Tutor disclosed on the show that despite the divorce and her pertinent busy schedule, she has tried to maintain her relationships with the children in a balance.

"It’s been a difficult time, but the hardest part is that I don’t see my girls every day because we share custody. When I don’t have my kids, I try to focus much more on work and friends. And when my kids are with me, I’m laser-focused on them," she added.   

Girlfriend

There is no information about Maltas having a new girlfriend or dating someone.

However, his ex-wife, Tracy Tutor, began dating Los-Angeles based personal trainer Erik Anderson in 2020, after the two got divorced in 2018.
