Jacob Buster is an American actor most recognized as Charlie Bowman in the Netflix sci-fi series Colony.

Who is Jacob Buster?

Jacob Buster is a television and film actor. He began his acting career in 2012, appearing as Arthur Milligan in one episode of the television series The Writer’s Block. 

He also guest-starred in television series Suits as Young Mike Ross and The Thundermans as Chester before landing his breakout role as Charlie Bowman on Colony in 2016. He later appeared as Colby on Ballers in 2019 and Jordan on Colin in Black & White in 2021. 

Buster also appeared in several television movies such as Lost Boy (2015), Searchers (2017), Sister Swap: A Hometown Holiday (2021), and Sister Swap: Christmas in the City (2021). 

The television actor made his big-screen debut in the 2013 film Storm Rider, portraying the role of Jordal Fielding. He later appeared in several films, including The Christmas Dragon (2014), Just Let Go (2015), Miracle Maker (2015), The Christmas Project (2016), and The Christmas Project Reunion (2020).

Most recently, Buster did Valentine’s Day shoot with model/entrepreneur Emma Victoria Green in February 2022. This year, he will also appear as Calvin in the upcoming film Aliens Abducted My Parents and Now I Feel Kinda Left Out. In addition, he will also feature as Peter in the upcoming pilot of Let the Right One In television series.

A Family of Five

Buster was born to his parents, Michael and Jennifer Buster, on 2 December 2003 in the United States. He has two siblings, one older brother named Christopher and one younger sister named Katie. He occasionally posts his photo with his family on Instagram.

He Got a Breakthrough Role in ‘Colony’

Premiered on 14 January 2016, Colony is a USA Network sci-fi action drama series co-created by Ryan J. Condal and Carlton Cuse. It follows the story of a Bowman family who tries to fight to stay together in the new world order in the wake of a mysterious alien invasion.

Buster portrayed the role of Carlie Bowman, the son of Will Bowman (played by Josh Holloway) and Katie Bowman (played by Sarah Wayne Callies).

Since The Arrival, he has been isolated from his family and has had no communication with them. Unfortunately, the viewers don't find out he's still alive until the Season 1 finale, 'Gateway.' He appeared as a guest star in Season 1 Episode 10 titled ‘Gateway.’ He then makes frequent appearances from Season 2 until his character was killed by an unknown sniper in Season 3 Episode 5 titled ‘The End of the Road.’ He appeared in 17 episodes of the series from 2016 to 2018.

Charlie appears in Season 2 as a member of a band of street urchins that work for a gang leader named Soloman. When his father finally locates him, he notices scarring on his ankle due to Soloman's torture. In retaliation, his father murders Soloman and the adult members of his group.

USA Network canceled Colony after three seasons on 21 July 2018. 

A Guest Appearance in ‘Colin in Black & White’

Colin in Black & White is a 2021 Netflix biographical sports drama miniseries co-created by Ava DuBernay and Colin Kaepernick. The six-part series chronicles the formative teenage years of civil rights activist and a former quarterback, Kaepernick, who tackles the obstacles of race, class, and culture as the Black adopted child of a white family. 

The miniseries stars Jaden Michael as Young Colin before becoming an NFL quarterback, cultural icon, and activist. Buster portrayed the role of Jordan in two episodes of Colin in Black & White.
