Who is Erinn Ruth?

Erinn Ruth is an actress based in New York City. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Performance from Ohio University School of Interdisciplinary Arts, where she worked in the production of Salome as a part of the university thesis. 

The actress then performed in the productions of The Mineola Twins and The Laramie Project at The Baker Theater in Ohio. Next, she took the lead role of Petra von Kant in the production of The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant at Hahne Theater in Ohio. Later, she moved to New York City and continued working on the stage, including in Conquest of the UniverseSwamp BabyIf Condition, and We Are Nebeneinander

The stage actor debuted on the screen in the 2009 short film The Sleep Study, portraying the role of Natasha. She went on to appear in short films like The Bitter End (2009), Black Box (2011), Wolf (2012), Happy Hour (2013), Warrior (2017), Famous Last Words (2018), and The Interning (2019). She also appeared in the role of Eloise in Jamie Greenberg’s 2011 romantic comedy film Stags.

Then in 2013, the actress debuted on television, appearing as Maggie in an episode of the short comedy TV series Below the Line. In 2014, she guest-starred in the NBC action-comedy TV series Taxi Brooklyn as Detective Jamee Lanister and scored a recurring role as Agent Rose in the NBC/WB crime drama Blindspot in 2015.

She guest-starred in NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as Maria Carla Channing in 2016 and then secured her next recurring role as Mo in the Showtime drama TV series Billions. She appeared in seven episodes of Billions in 2017. 

Erinn played Angel of Death in four episodes of the AMC supernatural adventure drama series Preacher in 2018. The same year, she scored the role of Evangeline in Fox’s Marvel series The Gifted. She then appeared as Corinne Baker in one episode of the CBS crime drama series FBI in 2019.

Most recently, Ruth played Sinead Keller in the CBS crime drama series The Equalizer in 2021 and Olivia Lungociu in the Showtime anthology drama series Super Pumped in 2022.

Played Mutant Lawyer Evangeline on Marvel Series ‘The Gifted’

The Gifted is a superhero TV series created by Matt Nix. Based on the Marvel comics created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, the series chronicles the story of a couple who is forced to run and join a community after they realize that their children possess mutant abilities.

Ruth portrayed the role of a mutant attorney Evangeline Whedon, who worked for the X-Men before they disappeared. Evangeline had a brief appearance in Season 1 Episode 13 titled ‘X-roads’ during a flashback scene.

In the episode that aired on 15 January 2018, Evangeline recruits Lorna Dane/Polaris (played by Emma Dumont) for the Mutant Underground. She then appeared in three episodes of the second season of the series. In Season 2, Evangeline tries to recruit Johnny Proudstar/Thunderbird (played by Blair Redford) to lead the Mutant Underground to help him get away from his drug addiction and give him a purpose.
