Who is Emma Hunton?

Emma Hunton is an American actress born on 26 August 1991, in Los Angeles, California, USA. Hunton's mother is Erica Hunton, an actress. She rose to prominence because of her roles in the TV series The Walton's and Gunsmoke

She made her first appearance in The Walton's as Holly Carter in the series' first episode, The Foundling, in 1972. Erica returned to the show eight years later as Lucille, Elizabeth's schoolmate. Erica also played Annie in two episodes of the long-running western TV show Gunsmoke.

Hunton debuted her acting career in the TV series Judging Amy in 1999. She played the role of Sophie for one episode. The same year, Hunton also appeared on another TV show titled Chicken Soup for the Soul, portraying Carrie.

In 2003, Hunton was featured in two TV series, The Drew Carey Show and Angel. She also played roles in the movie Happy Endings (2005) and the TV series Sonny with a Chance (2010) before landing one of her most popular roles, Davia Moss, in the popular TV series Good Trouble in 2019.

Hunton's character, Davia, is a no-holds-barred outspoken teacher who lives at The Coterie. She also runs a highly successful Instagram account on body positivity. Moreover, Davia lives with Callie Foster, played by Maia Mitchell, and Mariana Foster, played by Cierra Ramirez, in an apartment building.

However, Davia's character, on the other hand, has been painted in a negative light, not because of her slightly pretentious Instagram mantra but rather because of her relationships with other characters and the heights to which she will go in order to achieve her goals.

Hunton's character was raised by a bully mother who constantly made her feel inferior because of her weight. The second season of Good Trouble delves into why Davia is the way she is.

Hunton talked about her role in the show with Meaww in 2019 and said, "I absolutely think (for the first time) we see Davia caring about someone else more than herself." She continued, "It forces her to grow up and start finding her footing in the adult world."

Hunton also stated that playing Davia Moss was not easy. She said, "My first day on set was when I had to blow dry my hair naked in the mirror in the very first episode." Hunton added, "Even though I wasn't actually nude, I only had pasties and underwear on. I barely knew the cast let alone the crew (who are all wonderful, brilliant, talented, caring people) and I had a slight panic attack in the trailer which could have easily shut me down."
