“I could see myself maybe five years from now, like, doing a whole facelift or something. I don’t know. I mean, I’m not opposed to any of it. I think women should do whatever it is that they wanna do that makes them feel great about [themselves]. And so that’s why, a lot of times you’ll get comments — it’s like, ‘Blah, blah, blah, you do this, you do too much.’ And it’s like, well, who’s to say? It’s everyone’s own personal choice what they wanna do to feel confident.” - Emil Simpson (2022)

Simpson opened up about her weight gain and body image struggles during an episode of Real Housewives of Orange County in October 2019. In the episode, she revealed to her husband, Shane, and co-star Gina Kirschenheiter that she had some weight-related health issues.
Then her weight became the topic of discussion in the episode. Eddie Judge, another cast member of the show, told Simpson that she "weighs around 190 pounds," to which she responded, "It's really sad to me that I weigh that much." She also said she hadn't weighed herself in eight or nine months to avoid knowing the information about her weight so that she won't have to address it and do anything about it.
Emily is married to Shane Simpson, a claims investigator who previously worked as an associate attorney, real estate consultant, and investigations manager. They worked together at a real estate company for about three years. However, they began their romantic relationship online and then married quickly. She told Bravo that she and Shane didn't date before their marriage because Shane is a Mormon, and he needed to be married before becoming intimate with her.
Furthermore, Emily struggled with fertility issues for several years. She also suffered a miscarriage in 2011. In an interview with Bravo, she revealed that her sister Sara offered to be her surrogate. Sara then became Emily's surrogate for Emily and Shane's three children. She said they were married for five years, but she rarely saw him because of his military career. They didn't have any children and assets together as well. Her current husband was also previously married to his first wife named Miriam. He had two daughters named Shelby and Chanel.
