Lewis played the role of Blackfire/Komand'r in 'Titans' for nine episodes from 2019 to 2021. Her role, Komand'r, was set up as a villain from the start of the second season after two guest appearances. Lewis was later promoted to series regular in the third season and appeared to be one of season 3's main antagonists.

Damaris Lewis is an actress and model born on 10 October 1990 in Brooklyn, New York, to West Indian parents. Lewis went to Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, where she majored in dance with a conservatory-style arts concentration.

Making her acting debut in 2011 in a minor role in Limitless, Lewis has appeared in several TV shows and movies, including Black Actress (TV series 2013), New Girl (TV series 2014), and The Rewrite (movie 2014).

However, she is widely known for her roles in BlacKkKlansman (movie 2018), Pose (TV series 2019), Fatale (movie 2020), and Titans (TV series 2019-2021).

Besides her acting career, Lewis is also a model and was chosen for a three-day feature-style interview video shoot by singer Nick Jonas and the media brand Modelinia. The project brought her to the recognition of a larger audience and piqued her interest in interviewing and hosting. 

She also featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues from 2009 to 2011. In addition, Lewis has appeared in advertisements for brands such as Black/Up, Clarins, MAC Cosmetics, L'Oréal, and Yves Saint Laurent.

In addition to that, Lewis is the founder of Siram Wellness, a program created to avoid comparison and provide tips and products to help begin the journey back to oneself.

'NBA Awards'

Lewis presented trophies at the 'NBA Awards' for two years, in 2017 and 2018. 

In a 2018 interview with SI, when asked about her favorite moment from the 2017 show, she replied, "My favorite moment from last year's show was being backstage watching Drake work. He was an amazing host, he's an amazing actor. Watching him work, watching him be so focused the entire time. He never missed a beat. That was really fun."

In 2018, Lewis presented the trophies wearing a feather-trimmed Elmadawy New York dress to the 'NBA Awards' at Barker Hangar, Santa Monica.

Lewis also used to run her basketball blog and appeared in the 2013 NBA All-Star Game's lead-in video. Besides that, she previously co-hosted NBA Style with American TV host Lance Fresh.

'Titans'

Titans is a 2018 TV series based on the DC Comics team Teen Titans. The series has three seasons and follows a group of young superheroes who fight evil and other dangers. It was first launched on DC Universe and later moved to HBO Max for the third season.

While talking about her role in season 3 of Titans with TV Insider in 2021, she said, "I must say the writers this season did me good. You're going to be able to watch Blackfire really get the opportunity to play. Each episode has a different part of her as well, which is a privilege as an actor."

In October 2021, HBO Max renewed the Titans for the fourth season, which is expected to release in 2022. While the show's season finale made it look like she would leave, it is still unsure if she would return as Blackfire/Komand'r.

Who is She Dating?

There is not much information about Lewis's dating life. However, there were rumors about Lewis having an affair with the late singer Prince, who unfortunately died in April 2016. 

In May 2016, in an interview with Extra TV at the annual BTIG Commissions Charity Day in NYC, Lewis declined the rumors of their relationship and revealed that they were just friends. 

"I've never dated Prince. I was just his dancer and his muse, and he was one of my best friends." She said. "I really hope that people don't listen to all the crazy stuff that's going on. Really, truly understand that this man was private. Respect his privacy."
