Who is Broderick Jones?

Broderick Jones is a Kansas native singer and songwriter. He is best known for his most popular single track 'Pokemon U' which has around 35 million views on YouTube alone. Moreover, he currently represents his state, Kansas, in the NBC reality singing competition, American Song Contest.

Jones’ age, birthday, parents, and education details are not available on verified media sources. However, he was born in Olathe, Kansas, where he grew up dreaming of one day becoming the greatest artist coming out of Kansas.

Jones developed his zeal for singing when he was only a little kid. He dreamt of singing at events like the Super Bowl and Grammys and pretended to be on stage in his living room. Jones mentioned in an interview with The Community Voice in March 2022 that he was initially attracted to music and singing after watching the American Idol. At that time, he was in the sixth grade of school. He said,

“I was watching American Idol in sixth grade, and I thought it was so dope. I wanted to be up there too. But when I first started singing, I was really horrible and my mom told me I wasn’t allowed to sing anymore.”

After his mother disallowed him from singing, Jones gave it up until completing high school. However, after high school, he again picked it back up. In the same interview with The Community Voice, he also mentioned that he gets his inspiration for music from artists like One Direction, Michael Bolton, Drake, and Gavin DeGraw.
