Bonnie Aarons is an American actress prominently known for her role as Valak in the Conjuring movie franchise.

Bonnie Aarons is an actress, producer, and writer. She graduated from a New York City-based acting school.

Aarons began her acting career in 1994 with a small role in an American film, Exit to Eden. Subsequently, she played minor roles for several years before landing movies such as Mulholland Drive and The Nun.

Besides her professional career, she has kept the rest of her life private.

Movies

Aarons’s career gained momentum after she appeared as Bum in the 2001 critically acclaimed movie Mulholland Drive. In the same year, she appeared as Baroness Joy von Troken in the 2001 movie Princess Diaries. Aarons was also featured in its 2004 sequel Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.

Followed by that, she took upon minor characters in movies such as I Know Who Killed Me (2007), Hell Ride (2008), One, Two, Many (2008), Drag Me to Hell (2009), Dahmer vs. Gacy (2010). 

Then, in 2012, Aarons played the role of Dicky D’Angelo’s mother on the award-winning movie Silver Linings Playbook. Besides that, in 2012, she wrote and produced multiple episodes of the tv series And You Know Who You Are.

In 2016, Aarons made her first appearance as the Demon Nun, Valak in the popular supernatural horror franchise, The Conjuring 2. Subsequently, she recurred her role in Annabelle: Creation (2017) and The Nun (2018). Moreover, Aarons will reprise the role yet again in The Nun 2, which was announced in 2019.

Other than that, she acted and co-produced the 2017 short movie Nocturnally Yours. Then in 2021, she starred in films such as Jacob’s Wife, Frank, and I Live Alone.
