Ashley Strohmier is an American journalist born on 1 January 1989 in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Strohmier studied political science at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri, before switching to criminal justice in 2007 and earning a bachelor's degree in 2012. While at college, she was named Miss Missouri USA in 2010 and subsequently reached the Top 10 in Miss USA that year.
In October 2012, Strohmier joined Fox Sports as a stage manager and worked there for three months until December 2012. She then worked for KMIZ-TV (ABC) for over six years in the posts of TV host from August 2013 to November 2013, a news reporter from December 2013 to February 2020, and a morning news anchor from June 2015 to August 2017. Eventually, she started working as an evening news anchor in August 2017 before leaving the media in February 2020.
During her time at KMIZ-TV, she covered crime and state and local politics. In addition, Strohmier's detailed reporting on the state's Department of Social Services prompted lawmakers to start an examination into the agency's practices in 2014, which won her a 'Kansas City Press Club' award.
Moreover, she was also awarded the 'Best News Anchor' award by the Missouri Broadcasters Association in 2019 for serving as an evening news anchor. Besides, she held other positions at the station during her time there, including solo anchor for News This Morning, where she also produced, anchored, and managed the daily content.
After that, Strohmier landed her current job in Fox News Media as an overnight anchor and correspondent in March 2020. Her last day at KMIZ-TV 17 was 26 February 2020.
