Who is Arthel Neville?
Arthel Helena Neville was born on 20 October 1962 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She initially wanted to become an actor, and briefly, she appeared on the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives.
Eventually, she joined to study journalism at the University of Texas at Austin. During her junior of college, she joined ABC affiliate KVUE-TV as a reporter. She was the first African American female reporter for Texas' KVUE-TV and worked full-time while studying.
After college, Neville worked at numerous well-known local newsrooms. She was also the country's first high-profile African American female entertainment reporter for E! Entertainment Television. She went on to establish the EXTRA, an entertainment news show.
Before joining FOX News Channel in 2010, she assisted with the debut of a newly acquired Fox affiliate in San Diego, as their broadcasted previously content only from Los Angeles and Mexico. Then in 2010, she returned to the network as a New York-based anchor. While from 1998 to 2001, she worked as a contributor as well.
Neville became prominent for hosting Fox Files and Celebrity Spotlight, while she also led the network's coverage of Hurricane Katrina's aftermath in New Orleans.

Arthel's Father, Art Neville
Neville is the daughter of Lorraine and Art Neville. She has one sibling, Ian Neville. Her father, Arthur Lanon Neville Jr., was a singer, songwriter, and keyboardist. For decades, he was a fixture on the New Orleans music scene.
First, he founded the funk band The Meters, whose musical approach defined New Orleans funk. Later, he also co-founded the rock-soul-jazz band The Neville Brothers and subsequently launched the offshoot group The Funky Meters.
He appeared on several records by New Orleans and other renowned performers, including Labelle on 'Lady Marmalade', Paul McCartney, Lee Dorsey, Robert Palmer, Dr. John, and Professor Longhair. Furthermore, he was a recipient of three Grammy nominations.
Art Neville passed away in 2019 at the age of 81. Arthel calls her father 'Poppa Funk' and often posts about her family on her Instagram.
On 9 May 2022, Neville posted pictures on Instagram attending the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, captioned, "love these permanent installations of my father Art Neville and my Uncle Charles at JazzFest. Arthel married Derric Lassic in 1995. They met at a USA beauty pageant in 1994, where she was the co-host, and he was one of the judges. However, the couple got divorced in 1998. They did not disclose the reason behind their separation. They do not share any children from their relationship.
Neville later remarried after meeting Taku Hirano, a drummer, at their concert backstage in 1999. After a two-year long-distance relationship, they tied the knot in 2001 when Hirano asked permission from her parents to marry her.
As reported by Hollywood Mask, Hirano proposed to her in Venice, Italy, and they married at a beach in Hawaii. However, they do not have any children yet.
