Early Bio, Education, and Family

Anita Vogel was born in Tarzana, California, USA, on 24 November 1969. She is of Eastern European ancestry on her father's side and Armenian origin on her mother's. However, Vogel considers herself primarily an American but publicly acknowledges her Armenian ancestry.

Vogel's mother's family background is now known as converted Armenians. This is because during and after the Ottoman Empire's Armenian Genocide, women and children were allowed to convert to Islam instead of getting executed. Vogel learned about the Armenian Genocide from her grandmother Sarah Bedrosian, also known by her maiden name Agzarian, 11 years old at the time.

Vogel graduated from Southern California University with degrees in broadcast journalism and political science (USC).
