Tim Duncan's Ex-Wife

Amy Sherrill is the ex-wife of famous former American basketball player Tim Duncan.

Who is Amy Sherrill?

Amy Sherrill is the American former wife of Tim Duncan, a professional basketball player. However, there is no information about her birth date, early life, and educational details, as she prefers a private lifestyle.

Sherrill rose to prominence because of her marriage to Tim Duncan in 2001. They met at Wake Forest University, where Duncan was a college basketball player and Sherrill was a cheerleader.

Duncan and Sherrill share two children, son Draven and daughter Sydney. The ex-couple was married for 12 years before parting ways in 2013.

According to AmoMama, Sherrill claimed that the divorce was necessary since their marriage had become unsustainable owing to conflict and dissension. She filed for divorce in March 2013, while Duncan's team, the Spurs, was preparing for a run to the NBA Finals, and it caught Tim off guard.

Per some sources, Duncan had previously hired a private investigator to follow and monitor Sherrill's movements because he doubted she was cheating on him.

The pair had already signed a prenuptial agreement before their marriage in 2001. They chose not to go to court and instead wanted a private hearing.

Sherrill's Ex-husband Is A Former Professional Basketball Player

Timothy Theodore Duncan is a basketball coach and a former professional player. He is widely recognized as the "greatest power forward of all time and one of the greatest players in NBA history," earning him the moniker "the Big Fundamental."

Duncan entered the NBA draft after graduating from college in 1997. He was elected first overall by the San Antonio Spurs and gained a reputation as a high-caliber player from the start, and he and David Robinson were known as the "Twin Towers" defensive combo.

Unfortunately, Duncan struggled with an injury in his third and fourth seasons with the Spurs, but he rallied and made a return in the 2001-02 season, winning the league's Most Valuable Player award.

Duncan was also a player of the US Basketball Team in 2003, which won 10 games and qualified for the Olympics. Even after a few slips and setbacks, including plantar fasciitis and severe knee tendinosis, he played at a high level. During the 2013-14 season, Duncan helped the Spurs defeat the Miami Heat, earning him the fifth title of his career.

On 3 March 2020, he made his acting head coaching debut, leading the Spurs to a 104-103 victory over the Charlotte Hornets. In 2020, he was enlisted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and in 2021, he was appointed to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.

Besides his basketball career, Duncan has also launched the Tim Duncan Foundation. It was established in 2001 and supports programs in San Antonio, Winston-Salem, and the US Virgin Islands that promote health, education, and youth sports. From 2001 to 2002, the Foundation was instrumental in raising approximately $350,000 for breast and prostate cancer research. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Duncan has a net worth of $130 million as of 2022.

Talking about his personal life, Duncan got married to Sherrill in July 2001. They have two children together. Unfortunately, the former pair divorced in August 2013. Following their divorce, Duncan and his long-term girlfriend Vanessa Macias welcomed a child in 2017.
