Zach Kornfeld is one of the core members of The Try Guys comedy group. He is known for his comedic talent and quirky personality. He began creating content at BuzzFeed in 2014 as a member of The Try Guys that consisted of three other team members - Ned Fulmer, Eugene Lee Yang, and Keith Habersberger. The quartet created a lot of viral videos for BuzzFeed.
In 2018, they left BuzzFeed to create their own company called 2nd Try LLC. They subsequently started The Try Guys YouTube Channel. The channel has more than 7.67 million subscribers as of October 2021.
Early Life and Education
Zachary Andrew Kornfeld, in short, Zach Kornfeld, was born on 26 July 1996 in Scarsdale, New York, in a Jewish family. In a December 2014 The Try Guys introductory post, Kornfeld admitted that he never had his bar mitzvah despite being Jewish. "Though Jewish, I dropped out of Hebrew School and never had a Bar Mitzvah. I *think* this means I'm not a man in the eyes of the Jewish religion (?). But, if I ever record a rap album, I'll get to call it "Hebrew School Dropout."
As a child, Kornfeld appeared on NBC Saturday Night Live's episode titled 'Elijah Wood/Jet' that aired on 13 December 2003. He appeared as a kid, but his role was uncredited.
He became involved in filmmaking at a young age. According to Kornfeld, he started making short movies when he was only 10 years old. At the time, he made short movies with legos and stuffed animals.
Kornfeld attended Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts.
The Try Guys
As a teenager, Kornfeld worked as an intern for a digital media company called BuzzFeed. In 2014, Kornfeld, Eugene Lee Yang, Ned Fulmer, and Keith Habersberger, formed The Try Guys at BuzzFeed. They published their first video titled 'Guys Try Ladies' Underwear for the First Time on 12 September 2014.
According to Kornfeld, the selection of the members for making their first video was quite simple. "It really came down to who was willing to show their butts," Kornfeld said in a lecture and Q&A session titled 'The Try Guys Try UCR' at Hub 302 in October 2015, as per The Highlander.
The Try Guys quartet made a wide range of video series for BuzzFeed for more than three years.
2nd Try LLC
They left BuzzFeed on 16 June 2018 to create their own independent production company called 2nd Try LLC and published the first video the following day. Since then, the quartet has published comedy videos on different issues, including parenthood, old age, food, beauty, crafts, and many other try-challenge videos. They co-create, direct, executive-produced content, and also star in their The Try Guys YouTube channel.
The Try Guys YouTube channel has 7.67 million subscribers, and its videos have accumulated more than 1.8 billion views as of October 2021.
Television Debut
The Try Guys will be making their television debut on Food Network's six-episode series titled No Recipe Road Trip With the Try Guys. In February 2021, Food Network announced a one-off special of the same name, but it peaked up to series when the network ordered an additional five episodes, Variety reported on 9 September 2021. The series is based on The Try Guys' YouTube series Without A Recipe. The premiere date of the television series has not been announced as of September 2021, as per tubefilter.com.
Podcast
On 4 May 2019, The Try Guys launched a weekly podcast called The TryPod. In the podcast, they talk about their experiences as internet content creators and their friendship. The podcast had released around 130 episodes as of October 2021.
Book
Kornfeld, along with his The Try Guys team members, co-wrote a book titled 'The Hidden Power of F*cking Up.' The book was published on 18 June 2019. In the book, each of four Try Guys discussed how they improved themselves and their lives by embracing fear, foolishness, and embarrassment. The book became the #1 New York Times Best Seller.
Zadiko Tea
Through The Try Guys YouTube channel on 13 May 2020, Kornfeld announced that he is starting a tea company for $500. According to Kornfeld, he teamed up with the founder and CEO of Art of Tea, Steve Schwartz, to create two original tea blends, one to help increase energy and the other to help with relaxation. He revealed the official brand name Zadiko Tea and logo for his tea company on 17 June and finally launched his tea company on 17 August 2020.
Personal Life
Kornfeld reportedly met Maggie Bustamante in 2016 but kept his dating life secret for more than two years. He announced their relationship in The Try Guys YouTube video on 12 December 2018. The couple got engaged on 31 August 2020.
