Yannis Pappas is a stand-up comedian, TV host, actor, and writer. He began his comedy career in 2000; however, he quit performing after two years, mainly because of being shot. At the end of 2004, he returned to stand-up comedy. In 2008, Pappas pursued comedy full-time.
Pappas has appeared on AXS TV, TruTV's How to Be a Grown-Up, VH1's Best Week Ever, Fox Business, and Good Morning America performing stand-up comedy. Pappas was the first comedian to perform stand-up comedy on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, but it was a test show that did not air.
Besides his stand-up comedy, Pappas co-founded Ditch Films with lifelong friend and director Jesse Scaturro in the mid-2000s. The comedy production team created the both live and recorded comedy. In addition, Pappas created his popular internet characters Maurica and Mr. Panos with Ditch Film, which debuted online in 2010 and 2009, respectively.
In addition, Yannis has performed at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and the New York Comedy Festival. He also hosted NextVR's virtual reality live stand-up comedy series, Live In Gotham (44 episodes 2018-19).
