Vanessa Freeman is a renowned TV host, news anchor, and reporter. She currently anchors PIX11 Morning News on WPIX TV. Prior to joining WPIX in April 2020, she was the national host and anchor for Cheddar Inc. for over two years.
Freeman began her media career in May 2008 as a reporter for Canal+ in the Washington DC area. After working there for around half a year, she landed a job with NBC News as their Production Assistant in September 2008. Similarly, she has also worked with several other media groups and news channels like WDTN-TV (January 2013-October 2014), Zazoom Media Group (October 2014-November 2014), and News 12 (October 2014-March 2018), etc.
Beginning in 2008, Freeman’s journalism career now spans over 14 years.

Freeman has kept most details of her early life a secret, including her birthday and age. She has also not disclosed her parents’ names and the names of her siblings yet. However, in an interview with medium.com in April 2022, she discussed her upbringing and growing up in Baltimore, Maryland.
According to Freeman, her parents are of Liberian nationality and belong to the West African ethnicity. Both her mother and father relocated from their native country to the USA for education and later became permanent residents. She also mentioned that her parents are highly educated and have several advanced degrees.
In the same interview, Freeman said that she was extremely shy as a child. She was talkative and extroverted around her family but was equally quiet in social situations. However, Freeman was more inclined toward arts and television despite her shy nature. Since she was a child, she roamed around her home and acted as a reporter interviewing her family members. In her words, “At home, I would run around with my hair brush, interviewing my Mom and aunts while my Dad recorded on his camcorder. In spite of my shy tendencies, I loved the arts, entertainment, and television. I was enamored by those story-tellers who could capture your imagination with their presentation.”
For education, Freeman enrolled at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, and studied Broadcast Journalism. Thus, she successfully turned her childhood passion of being a reporter into her real-life profession.

The WPIX news anchor, Freeman, has been happily married to her husband for a long time now. However, she has not disclosed her husband’s name in the media, and authentic sources also do not contain any information about him.
On 4 May 2020, Freeman uploaded a wedding picture on her Instagram handle @vanessafreetv alongside a caption that read, “THE 7TH YEAR.” It suggests that the pair had their wedding nine years ago, on 4 May 2013.

Freeman and her husband have become parents to their only child, a son (name undisclosed) from her nine years of marriage. She gave birth to her baby boy on 21 September 2019.
Freeman also shared her joy of being a mother and a parent via a post on her Instagram handle. Alongside an adorable picture with her baby, she wrote,
