Tyler Summitt is a former basketball player, and coach, and is currently the founder of The Pat Summitt Foundation. Summit was born on 21 September 1990 in Tennessee. He is 31 years as of 2021. His parents are R.B. Summitt II and Pat Summitt.
His mother, Patt, was the head coach of the University of Tennessee women’s basketball team. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s in August 2011.
In his adolescent years, Summittwas deeply involved in the basketball program of the University of Tennessee. During the senior year in high school, Summit earned the title of ‘Scholar-Athlete of the Year’ and was given the ‘Spartan Award’ as a point guard at the Webb School of Knoxville. He then played basketball at the University of Tennessee for two seasons.
Career
Summitt graduated from college at the age of 21 in 2012. His career as a coach began at Marquette University, where he held the position of assistant coach to Terri Mitchell. During his tenure, Summitt handled the team’s offense. He continued his tenure for two seasons until he quit in April 2014.
On 1 April 2014, when Summitt was 23, he joined Louisiana Tech University as the head coach. He was hired as the sixth head coach in Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters basketball history. Unfortunately, on 7 April 2016, Summitt’s extramarital relationship with a current player was exposed. Consequently, he resigned from Louisiana Tech.
After quitting his career as a coach, Summitt had mentioned that he would devote all his time to his wife and son. Additionally, he also helped with The Pat Summitt Foundation.
Personal Life
On 1 June 2013, Summit tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend, Anne Dennis “AnDe” Ragsdale. Unfortunately, their relationship faced many hardships after Summitt’s adultery with a player from the Louisiana Tech team, which was he was coaching, was revealed. It resulted in the couple getting a divorce in 2016.
