Who is Trevor Ault?
Trevor Ault is an American journalist born in the 1990s. He earned a bachelor of arts in communication with a business minor from Defiance College in 2012. He then graduated with a master of science in broadcast and digital journalism with a sports communication emphasis from Syracuse University.
Initially, Ault worked as an instructional associate during his college years at Syracuse University. In June 2013, he also worked as a digital content producer for Minnesota Vikings at Fox Sports for a month.
Ault started his career as a reporter for WTOL-TV in October 2013 in Toledo, Ohio. He first served as reporter, fill-in anchor, and digital content producer but was eventually promoted to morning anchor/reporter in July 2015. Ault worked in the post for seven months before leaving the television network in January 2016.
He then started working for KOIN-TV in April 2016 in Portland, Oregon, as a weekend evening anchor and general assignment reporter. During his time there, he went undercover to reveal the inner workings of unauthorized street racing groups and reported from the front lines violent clashes between protestors and police following the 2016 election.
Ault worked for KOIN-TV for over three years and finally left the network in April 2019. The same month, he landed a job as a multi-platform reporter at ABC News and has been working there since.

Ault joined ABC News in 2019 as a multi-platform reporter. He also shared a photo on his Facebook account in April 2019 and explained that he got the job in ABC after working for three years in Portland.
Ault quickly rose through the ranks, reporting across all shows and platforms. In November 2020, ABC appointed him as the New York-based correspondent.
He covered the election from Washington, DC, as one of his first major assignments in his position as a correspondent. Ault has also led the weekend coverage of the Coronavirus pandemic and reported on the deadly surge in New York.
In addition, he pressed former US President Trump and the White House Coronavirus Task Force on essential medical supplies shortages and covered the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota.
Besides that, Ault has also been on the front lines of historic protests against police brutality in New York, Atlanta, Louisville, and Rochester and crisscrossing the country for NewsOne to cover the Democratic Primary.
Family
Ault has disclosed no information about his family. However, his grandfather passed away in January 2021. Ault took to his Instagram to share that the family laid him to rest in Ohio.
In the post, Ault explained that he was fired from the local TV job six years ago. After that, he kept busy doing odd jobs at his father's office along with his grandfather, who was retired at the time.
Ault's grandfather also left him a note that read: "Trevor keep this house in order until you start receiving the major phone calls -Papa," which is now framed and kept in the middle of his New York bookshelves.
"He was not a complicated man. He believed in working hard and being kind. I have yet to find any evidence proving him wrong," he captioned the tribute.
