Tokyo Jetz is a renowned black American hip-hop artist and model. 

Who is Tokyo Jetz?

Jetz is an American rap artist, singer, model, and social media influencer. She was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. 

Jetz's parents divorced when she was very young. As a result, she spent most years of her early life living with her father and three siblings. Although the names of her siblings are not available, she has one younger sister and two brothers older than her. She initially began her career as a poet during high school and later shifted to rapping and writing songs.

Career Bio

Jetz initially rose to prominence after a series of freestyle videos she shot in her car. Soon after, her freestyles and appearances on mixtapes gradually drew the attention of various big-name rappers, including T.I., who signed her to Grand Hustle in 2016. She has also worked with rappers including Trina and Kash Doll since her debut in 2016.

Jetz relocated to Atlanta in early 2017 and went on tour with her labelmates around the United States. Her label debut, 'Viral,' was released in August 2017, following the single 'Sunshine Baby' and another song, 'My Story.'

After the release of her 2020 EP, Jetz sparked outrage after posting a video in which she playfully made light of George Floyd's murder while play fighting with a friend. As a response to the reaction, she later released her full-length album Cancel Culture in 2021.

To date, Jetz has launched three studio albums Viral (2017), Bonafide (2018), and Cancel Culture (2021). Her most notable songs include 'Hit Dogs Holla,' 'No Problem,' 'Know the Rules,' 'Baller Alert,' 'Freestyle,' 'At Em,' etc. While, in 2019, she released one of her most famous songs, 'Amir.' The song is about the things she faced while pregnant with her son Amir. She wanted the songs to relate to all the mothers out there, and it happened as she wished. As a result, it was well-received by her audiences.

In 2020, Jetz became a published writer with the launch of her book 'Mind Over Matter.' The book included details about her career and her rise to worldwide fame. As she gained popularity, Jetz suffered from mental health illness. And it took her a long time to battle anxiety and depression.

Furthermore, the Jacksonville native rapper is also an Instagram model and influencer. She posts modeling pictures, working out videos, and her songs on her account. Moreover, she also regularly updates her fans about her life events and family. As of January 2022, Jetz has amassed over 1.8 million followers on her official Instagram handle @tokyojetz.

'Cancel Culture'

Jetz released her latest studio album Cancel Culture on 19 March 2021. She launched it under the record label Grand Hustle Entertainment. She has shared the album's cover picture on her Instagram handle on its release date. The image also shows all the criticisms she has faced over the years. The status on her post read, "I decided to make this my cover to show y’all a small amount of the shit people who were ready to judge me had to say #CancelCulture 10 mins away."

The album has 14 songs with an overall playtime of 32 minutes. In addition, it includes popular tracks like 'Intro,' 'At Em,' 'Flu Game,' 'WYTD,' 'Don't Kill My Vibe,' 'One Up,' etc. All these songs showcase her capability to reach all sorts of audiences. Moreover, according to a May 2021 article on kazimagazine.com, Jetz's personal favorites from albums are 'At Em,' 'WYTD,' and 'Intro.'

Boyfriend

As of now, Jetz is dating the professional American footballer Dalvin James Cook. He plays for the NFL team Minnesota Vikings as their running back. Full details of the pair's dating life is not available on any authentic internet sites. However, according to hitc.com, they began their relationship sometime in early 2021.
