Tim Guinee, in full Timothy Sanders Guinee, is a stage, film, and television actor born on 18 November 1962 in Los Angeles, California. He grew up in Illinois and Texas with his two brothers and two sisters. 

After graduating from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas, Guinee founded a theater company in Houston, Texas. Later, he moved to New York to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Then he graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Guinee made his film debut in the 1986 film Tai-Pan. Since then, he has appeared in more than 160 acting credits, as per IMDb. His other film credits include American Blue Note (1989), Sweet Land (2005), Iron Man (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), 99 Homes (2014), Ash (2019), and The Same Storm (2021).

Guinee also appeared in numerous television series, including Strange WorldStargate SG-1RevolutionThe Good WifeHell On WheelsElementary, and Homeland.

Most recently, Guinee appeared in the Netflix series Inventing Anna. In addition, he will appear in the upcoming HBO Max television miniseries The Staircase.

‘Inventing Anna’

Guinee portrayed the role of Paul in the drama streaming television miniseries Inventing Anna, alongside Julia Garner. The nine-episode series was released on Netflix on 11 February 2022. 

Produced by Shonda Rhimes, Inventing Anna is based on a real story. It contours the drama of New York magazine journalist Jessica Pressler’s May 2018 article titled ‘How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People. The article is about a Russian woman Anna Delvey, a.k.a. Anna Sorokin, who posed as a German heiress and stole millions from the New York elite.

‘The Staircase’

Guinee also starred in HBO Max’s upcoming mystery crime drama miniseries, The Staircase. It follows a crime novelist Michael Peterson (played by Colin Firth), convicted in 2003 of murdering his wife, Kathleen (played by Toni Collette). Guinee portrays the role of Michael’s brother Bill Peterson.

It was written and executive produced by Antonio Campos and Maggie Cohn. And the ten-episode HBO Max miniseries is based on the 2004 true-crime docuseries of the same name created by Jean-Xavier de Lestrade.

Wife

Guinee met his wife, Daisy Foote, on the set of Showtime’s television movie Lily Dale (1996). The two soon tied the knot on 21 June 1997. 

Daisy posted their wedding picture on Instagram on their 23rd anniversary in 2020. Later, Guinee marked their 24th wedding anniversary in 2021.

She is a playwright and screenwriter by herself. She penned plays including, Living with MaryFarley and BetsyDarcy and ClaraWhen They Speak of Rita, and Bhutan

She won the ‘Roger L. Stevens Incentive Award’ for Living with Mary in 1995. Her screenplays included adaptations of Elizabeth Jolley’s The Last Crop, T.C. Boyle’s Water Music, John Steinbeck’s The Winter of Our Discontent, and Stephen Dobynsy’s The Church of the Dead Girls
