However, he says his reputed public presence is not so ruling in his home. Greenfield conveyed in an interview with ABC News in 2014 that his wife is the boss at home. “She’s the boss!” he shared. “Yeah, she’s the boss. She keeps me in the ground, as opposed to grounded,” he added with humor.

Greenfield told in the same interaction that his wife rarely compliments him about his on-screen performances. But she did once, for the first time, on his 2014 film titled About Alex. “[My wife] did turn to me after seeing this film and said, ‘I feel like you gave a strong performance,’” he revealed. “I thought, ‘I must be really good at this! She’s never done that!’”

Initially, he posted a cheerful photo of himself and her daughter at a desk in the middle of March. He captioned it, “Professor Greenfield, #HomeSchooling Please pray for us.” Ten days later, he posted another video with his daughter Lilly, throwing a sarcastic comment on Max as she was typing. “How long does it take one person to type Massachusetts?” Max asked his daughter in the video. His daughter responded with, “Hey Dad, I need your s*** like I need a whole in the head!”

Greenfield's New Children Book

Furthermore, Max even wrote his first children’s book, ‘I Don’t Want to Read This Book,’ amidst the pandemic. The book targets young readers along with his children, who despise studying. The book will release on 9 November 2021.

“Our kids don’t like to read books, so I wrote one about not wanting to read one in the hopes that they read it,” Greenfield told People in February 2021. “I hope this book will provide some relief. I hope it will give them a voice. One that’s acknowledged with empathy and, in a perfect world, with a sense of humor,” he added on why he wrote the book.
