Tawny Little was born Tawny Elaine Godin on 15 September 1956 in Portland, Maine. Later, she grew up in New York and Toronto, where she learned to speak French and Spanish (she also knows Greek, Latin, German, and Russian).
In 1975, Little initially entered the Miss New York contest to raise money for her college tuition for Skidmore. Fortunately, she ended up winning the 'Miss New York' title and subsequently won the 'Miss America' title in the following year. Upon winning the 'Miss America' title, she quit after her freshman year in college.
In the 1970s through the 1990s, Little was a news anchor and reporter for KABC-TV, KCAL-TV, and KCOP in Los Angeles. Little initially joined KABC-TV in 1977 as a news anchor. She was a 20-year-old with no prior reportorial experience.
In the mid-80s, she co-hosted Channel 7's evening travelogue, Eye on L.A. In 1989, she joined Steve Edwards as a co-host on A.M Los Angeles, which got canceled.
Little then left KABC in 1992 and joined KCAL-TV as a news anchor for Channel 9. Later, from 1995 to 1999, she co-anchored for KCOP's UPN News 13.

First Marriage
After her reign as Tawny Little Miss America 1976 ended, she married Dr. Fanning Miles Little on 5 March 1977. She also changed her last name to Little. "Miles isn't the least impressed that I'm Miss America. If I was going out with a guy who was gaga over me, I could walk all over him," she said at the time to People.
During that time, Little was in the news for her experiments with marijuana and was anxious about what her soon-to-be in-laws had to say.
The couple later got divorced on 6 March 1981.
Second Marriage
Little then got married to John Schneider on 16 July 1983. John is an actor, a pilot, and a U.S. Air Force Veteran. The couple first met at the 1982 Oscars when Little interviewed him on the red carpet. They started dating a couple of months after they met.
Unfortunately, the couple got divorced on 27 March 1986.
Third Marriage
Little got married for the third time to Don Corsini on 1 November 1986. Don Corsini was the General Manager of KCAL in 1996 and took charge of CBS' duopoly (when the company had purchased KCAL). They have two children together: Joseph John, "J.J." (born in 1987), and Chris (born in 1989).
Her third wedding also ended in divorce in 1999.
Fourth Marriage
Little got married for the fourth time to Richard Jon Welch on 1 January 2000, until Welch passed away in 2014.
