Palmeri began her professional journalism career right after graduating college in 2008. She started as a broadcast intern for Voice of America for a few months in Washington DC in late 2008. Palmeri then joined CNN as their news assistant in January 2009. As one of her first tasks at CNN, she provided onstage assistance for Barack Obama’s Presidential inauguration.

She left CNN in September 2009 and immediately joined the American news website Washington Examiner as their columnist. Subsequently, she worked as a reporter at the New York Post for five years, from 2010 to 2015. It marked the beginning of her rise to nationwide and international fame.
