Born on 7 December 1976 in Las Vegas, NV, Thomas Joseph Lavin aka T. J. Lavin is a BMX specialist who grabbed three gold medals in an X Games competition.
Also, a high school wrestler, Lavin started riding bikes when he was two years old. He raced BMX bikes until he was 15, stopped racing, and shifted to dirt jumping.
Lavin followed his BMX dreams and was already a professional by 19.
From 1995 to 2010, he became the DK Dirt Circuit Champion, winner of the European championship, a Gravity Games champion, and a CFB champion. Additionally, he was also crowned as 'King of the Dirt.'

Lavin hosted his first season of The Challenge in 2008. After that, he hosted the 11th season titled The Gauntlet II. The Challenge previously didn't entertain set hosts before Lavin's entry. However, he has continued appearing for every season. He hosted the show from 2005 to 2019.

Likewise, in August 2018, he again met with an accident. Levin got injured in a BMX stunt in Las Vegas, causing a scar on his forehead and multiple wounds on his face.
