Sophia Jane Myles is an English actress born on 18 March 1980 in Hammersmith, London, England. Myles was born to her mother Jane, and late father Peter Myles, a priest and vicar in the Anglican Church. She has a younger brother named Oliver.
She attended Fox Primary School in Notting Hill until she was 11. Myles's acting skills were first recognized when she took drama at Green School. Her educational qualifications include GCSEs and A-Levels. She planned to study philosophy at Cambridge University but pursued acting instead.
Myles made her on-screen debut with the 1996 TV mini-series The Prince and the Pauper. After two years, she played the role of young Saffron in another TV mini-series Big Women.
Myles then landed a small part in the movie Mansfield Park in 1999 as Susan Price after she enrolled at Cambridge University to study philosophy. The same year, she was cast as Agnes Fleming in the TV series Oliver Twist, after which she dropped out to pursue her acting career.

However, reportedly, Tennant ended the relationship over the phone, blaming the distance between them in October 2007. The pair dated for more than two years and stated it was difficult for both because Myles was filming in Los Angeles and Tennant was in the United Kingdom.
Father's Death
Myles' father, Peter, died at 67 on 21 March 2020 after contracting coronavirus. She considered herself fortunate because she was permitted to see her father for five minutes a day before he died.
In an interview in 2020 with Good Morning Britain, Myles explained she was allowed into his father's ward under strict medical supervision and clinical advice, wearing a visor and full protective uniform. However, she could only be in the room with him for five minutes and had to stand at a two-meter distance.
"They did allow me one moment to go in and hold his hand. I was wearing protective gloves, so it was so hard. You can't have that flesh-to-flesh moment… to kiss your loved one's brow and hold their hand, and it was very obvious that his breathing was starting to slow down massively," she added.
Days after her father died, she began posting Q&A videos on Twitter, where she talked about her fears and interacted with fans to get through the difficult time.
