Simon Kassianides is an actor and filmmaker born on 7 August 1979 in London, England. He was born to Greek parents, Helen and Mario, and he has a brother named Photis.
Kassianides graduated with an MA degree in international business from the University of Edinburgh in 2002. After graduation, he planned to pursue a career in finance, but that didn't feel fulfilling to him.
He then opened and ran a coffee shop for about a year and a half. Kassianides started working as an office and production assistant after a producer advised him to make coffee on set and eventually went to drama school. While attending the drama school, he was discovered by a talent agent, who offered to represent him.
Kassianides then kicked off his acting career in the West End production of Tennessee Williams's play The Night of the Iguana, alongside Woody Harrelson. He subsequently made his television debut in 2004 in the BBC One drama series Casualty.
