Made his debut as a director and screenwriter with the 2010 short film 'If I Can't Have You'

In 2008, he made a breakthrough as James Bond villain Yusef Kabira in 'Quantum of Solace,' opposite Daniel Craig. The film brought him to the United States, where his acting career rose. In 2010, Kassianides starred in the lead role of Ali in the critically acclaimed romantic thriller drama film 'Between Two Fires.' His other film credits include 'Geezas' (2011), 'Unforgettables' (2017), and 'Cliffs of Freedom' (2019).

Who is Simon Kassianides?

Simon Kassianides is an actor and filmmaker born on 7 August 1979 in London, England. He was born to Greek parents, Helen and Mario, and he has a brother named Photis.

Kassianides graduated with an MA degree in international business from the University of Edinburgh in 2002. After graduation, he planned to pursue a career in finance, but that didn't feel fulfilling to him. 

He then opened and ran a coffee shop for about a year and a half. Kassianides started working as an office and production assistant after a producer advised him to make coffee on set and eventually went to drama school. While attending the drama school, he was discovered by a talent agent, who offered to represent him.

Kassianides then kicked off his acting career in the West End production of Tennessee Williams's play The Night of the Iguana, alongside Woody Harrelson. He subsequently made his television debut in 2004 in the BBC One drama series Casualty

He went on to appear on a string of British TV series, including Ashes to AshesThe Fixer, and Love Soup, before making his feature film debut in The Edge of Love in 2008. The same year, he made a breakthrough as James Bond villain Yusef Kabira in Quantum of Solace, opposite Daniel Craig. The film brought him to the United States, where his acting career rose. 

In 2010, Kassianides starred in the lead role of Ali in the critically acclaimed romantic thriller drama film Between Two Fires. His other film credits include Geezas (2011), Unforgettables (2017), and Cliffs of Freedom (2019). 

From 2014 to 2017, Kassianides appeared in a recurring role as Sunil Bakshi in the ABC Marvel series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. In 2018, he guest-starred in the role of Nick D'Amato in the Season 7 finale of the USA Network comedy-drama series Suits to set up his character and backstory in the Suits spin-off Pearson

He also starred on Pearson opposite Gina Torres in 2019. He then appeared as Axe Woves in the Disney+ series The Mandalorian in 2020.

In addition, the actor appeared in a few TV movies such as Planespotting (2005), Recovery (2007), Smooch (2011), and Lumen (2015). His short film credits include Shit (H)it (2011), Trust No One (2016), and The Imperfect Picture (2021).

Career as a Filmmaker

Kassianides made his debut as a director and screenwriter with the 2010 short film If I Can't Have You. He produced his first short film, Shit (H)it (2011), and co-directed and produced his first feature film Geezas (2011). 

In 2014, he directed the short film Coxy, It's You. He then wrote, directed, and produced the 2016 short film Trust No One.

In 2021, Variety reported that Kassianides would make his feature screenwriting debut as he sold the psychological thriller The Weatherman to the UK-based production house called Raw.

Wife/Partner

Kassianides is in a relationship with his girlfriend named Julia Westman. He took to Instagram on 14 February 2022 to wish his partner Valentine's Day. Posting an image of the pair, he wrote, "Happy Valentine's today and every single day. You're the light of my life."

He has frequently been posting pictures with his partner on Instagram since 2021.
