Shane Conrad is a veteran actor and producer. He is also widely recognized as the son of late actor Robert Conrad.

Who is Shane Conrad?

Shane Conrad is an American TV and film actor and producer. His fame began after his appearance as the series regular role as Nick Farrell in the CBS series Mike Hammer, Private Eye (1997-1998).

Shane's acting debut came in 1982 with an uncredited role in the TV movie Will: The Autobiography of G. Gordon Liddy. Since then, he has regularly appeared on the big and small screens with varied acting roles.

His most notable appearances are in Jesse Hawkes (1989 TV series), The Brady Bunch Movie (1995 film), Criminal Minds (2008 TV series), Back to the Horn (2009 Film), The Bold and The Beautiful (2013-2015 TV series), 9-1-1 (2021 TV series), etc.

Besides acting, Shane also holds several credits as an ADR in films and TV series. Some of his major works are in Blind Justice (2005 TV series), Ugly Betty (2006-2010 TV series), Wanderlust (2012 film), etc.

As of now, in 2022, Conrad, appeared on an episode of 9-1-1 while also voiced on series Hightown as an automated dialogue replacement. Other than that he has not updated his career profile. 

Age and Family

Shane Conrad took birth as Shane Robert Conrad to his late father Robert Conrad and mother Joan Kenley on 24 September 1971. He was born in Santa Monica, California, as one of 8 children of Robert Conrad.

Shane has four biological siblings and three half-siblings from his father's second marriage. One of his brothers, Christian Conrad, is an actor known for High Mountain Rangers (1987-1988 TV series), Last Time Out (1994 Movie), Star Trek: Voyager (1996-2001 TV series), Castle (2009 TV series), etc.

Similarly, his sister Nancy is also an actress best recognized for her Lt. Nancy Gilmore in Black Sheep Squadron (1977-1978 TV series). His other sister Joan Conrad is a TV series and movie producer. She holds producing credits for TV series like High Mountain Rangers, Jesse Hawkes (1989), High Sierra Search and Rescue (1995), etc.

In addition to that, Shane has not disclosed any information on his personal relationships, married and wife.

'Mike Hammer, Private Eye'

The American TV series 'Mike Hammer, Private Eye' premiered its first episode on 28 September 1997. It was a crime-drama detective series on the CBS channel. It aired for two seasons, with overall 26 episodes through 14 June 1998.

Shane appeared on this CBS series as one of the main characters, Nick Farrell. He was part of all 26 episodes of the show.

Father Robert Conrad

Shane's father, the late Robert Conrad, was a renowned American TV and film actor, singer, and stuntman. He was a Chicago native born on 1 March 1935.

Before his acting career began, he worked as a milk truck driver to support his family. He also served as a cabaret singer in several nightclubs in Chicago.

Robert attended several schools before graduating high school. First, he joined South Shore High School, then YMCA Central School, and New Trier High School. Later, he enrolled in Northwestern University in Chicago and studied theater arts.

After completing University education, Robert moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. He debuted acting with an uncredited role in Juvenile Jungle (1958 Film). Then after a series of several other minor roles, he landed his first major part in the TV series Hawaiian Eye.

In the Hawaiian eye, Robert portrayed the character Tom Lapaka. From 1959 to 1963, he appeared in a total of 104 episodes. His other notable acting works are The Wild Wild West (1965-1969 TV series), The D.A. (1971-1972 TV series), Murph the Surf (1975 Film), Centennial (1978-1979 TV series), Jesse Hawkes (1989 TV series), New Jersey Turnpikes (1999 film), etc.

Robert was married twice. He married his first wife, Joan Kenley, on 23 February 1952. The pair were together for around 25 years before their legal separation in 1977. With Joan, he became the father of his five children.

After six years from his separation from Joan, Robert married his second wife, LaVelda Fann, on 28 March 1983. They welcomed three children from their marriage and parted ways after 27 years of relationship in 2010.

The veteran actor died at the age of 84 on 8 February 2010.
