'Mike Hammer, Private Eye'

The American TV series 'Mike Hammer, Private Eye' premiered its first episode on 28 September 1997. It was a crime-drama detective series on the CBS channel. It aired for two seasons, with overall 26 episodes through 14 June 1998.

Shane appeared on this CBS series as one of the main characters, Nick Farrell. He was part of all 26 episodes of the show.

Father Robert Conrad

Shane's father, the late Robert Conrad, was a renowned American TV and film actor, singer, and stuntman. He was a Chicago native born on 1 March 1935.

Before his acting career began, he worked as a milk truck driver to support his family. He also served as a cabaret singer in several nightclubs in Chicago.

Robert attended several schools before graduating high school. First, he joined South Shore High School, then YMCA Central School, and New Trier High School. Later, he enrolled in Northwestern University in Chicago and studied theater arts.

After completing University education, Robert moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. He debuted acting with an uncredited role in Juvenile Jungle (1958 Film). Then after a series of several other minor roles, he landed his first major part in the TV series Hawaiian Eye.

In the Hawaiian eye, Robert portrayed the character Tom Lapaka. From 1959 to 1963, he appeared in a total of 104 episodes. His other notable acting works are The Wild Wild West (1965-1969 TV series), The D.A. (1971-1972 TV series), Murph the Surf (1975 Film), Centennial (1978-1979 TV series), Jesse Hawkes (1989 TV series), New Jersey Turnpikes (1999 film), etc.

Robert was married twice. He married his first wife, Joan Kenley, on 23 February 1952. The pair were together for around 25 years before their legal separation in 1977. With Joan, he became the father of his five children.

After six years from his separation from Joan, Robert married his second wife, LaVelda Fann, on 28 March 1983. They welcomed three children from their marriage and parted ways after 27 years of relationship in 2010.

The veteran actor died at the age of 84 on 8 February 2010.
