Terry Keith Ingstad, alias Shadoe Stevens, was born on 3 November 1947 in Jamestown, North Dakota.
He attended the University of North Dakota and majored in Commercial Arts. Later, he transferred to the University of Arizona to study Drama and Journalism. During his college years, he worked full time in several radio stations such as KILO in Grand Forks, North Dakota, KQWB in Fargo, North Dakota, and KIKX in Tucson, Arizona.
Stevens continued working in radio stations after his graduation. In the early 1970s, he created and launched a new rock format radio program on KROQ-FM in Los Angeles and spent five years in the station. After that, he created a successful advertising campaign called 'Fred Rated for Federated' for a home electronics company, The Federated Group, which earned him the Clio and the Big Apple Awards.
In 1988, he made his film debut in the action-comedy film Traxx. The same year, he became the host of the internationally syndicated, independent song countdown radio show called American Top 40. It airs in 110 countries and is heard by more than a billion people a week.
Stevens also founded a music network, RhythmRadio, that delivers programming on the radio in 30 countries. He also created 'Cabo Wabo Radio' for musician Sammy Haggar from 2007 to 2008.
Shadoe has also lent his voice in multiple television shows and films, including The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson from 2005 to 2015.
In 2017, he started appearing as Phillip McQueen/Narrator in the comedy-drama television series The Rich & the Ruthless. In 2021, he served as OSI Announcer in the action comedy-drama television series Cinema Insomnia with Mr. Lobo.
