Sara Donchey is a famous American journalist, news reporter, anchor, and TV host. Currently, she is working at CBS-owned station KPIX as an anchor for newscasts in San Francisco.
The journalist was born in Los Angeles and later grew up in Diamond bars. Unfortunately, authentic sources are yet to publish her age and birthday. However, as per the alumni page of the College of Liberal and Creative Arts, she was 26 years old in July 2015. Thus, after more than six years, Donchey’s age must be 31 years.
After relocating to Diamond Bars at a young age, Donchey studied at the Diamond Bars High School and passed out in 2007. She then studied Print and Online Journalism at San Francisco State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2012.
During her days at the University, she promoted Golden Gate Xpress, a student-managed publication. In addition to writing news and reports related to sports, she worked there as Online Managing Editor and Editorial Cartoonist.
Donchey has worked with many broadcasting stations over her career. Immediately after college, she began working in KPIX 5 as a production assistant. It was then she decided to pursue a TV anchoring career permanently.
Subsequently, in 2013 she relocated to Corpus Christi in South Texas to join KZTV and KRIS-TV as their multimedia journalist. She anchored the evening newscasts and reported evening shows on the weekend.
After around two years in South Texas, Donchey migrated to Houston and joined KPRC-TV as their full-time anchor and reporter. There she covered the 11 am and 4 pm telecasts of the network. Moreover, while at KPRC, she toured the nation to report other news, including Super Bowls, the 2016 Dallas Police shooting, and the terror attack in San Bernardino.
Following a three years stint at KPRC, Donchey made her move from Houston to Los Angeles to join the CBS affiliate KCBS-KCAL 9. She began as the network’s live newscaster in 2019.

After several years at different news channels across the country, Donchey came to KCAL 9 in 2019. As their news anchor and reporter, she served the network for more than two and a half years before announcing her move to KPIX.
Donchey announced her move via a tweet on her official Twitter handle in February 2022. She wrote,
“Friends I am sorry to say this will be my final week at KCBS KCAL, but excited for what the future holds. Thank you for your support, your feedback and your many kindnesses over the past 3 years.”
On 4 February 2022, her KPIX colleague made a tweet announcing Donchey’s comeback to KPIX.
Is Sara Donchey Married?
Despite a years-long media career, Donchey has managed to keep her personal life away from the limelight. She has not walked anyone through her married life and family details yet. However, as per her page on KCAL 9, she is still married and currently resides in the Bay Area, San Francisco, California, with her husband and a son.
On 7 April 2020, she shared a portrait of her son on her Instagram handle @goshdurn. She captioned the picture, “#Portraitsofapandemic my boss enjoying a moment outside.”
