Rocky Lynch was the lead guitarist and singer-songwriter of the R5 band, alongside his brothers Ross and Riker, sister Rydel, and friend Ellington Ratliff. In 2013, the band released its debut EP titled Loud, which peaked at top 3 on the iTunes chart within 24 hours of its release. The band also released their debut studio album titled Louder in 2013. The album peaked at number 24 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
R5 released their second and final studio album titled Sometime Last Night in 2015. In addition, the band went on several concert tours before being disbanded in 2018.
After that, Rocky and Ross embarked on their new project, The Driver Era.
Age and Early Bio
Rocky Mark Lynch was born as the third of five children of Stormie and Mark Lynch in Littleton, Colorado, on 1 November 1994. His age is 27 years as of 2021.
In 2007, the Lynch family moved to Los Angeles to pursue careers in the entertainment industry. It was there, Rocky taught himself and his brothers, Ross and Riker, how to play guitar and bass.
They started playing together and added their sister Rydel to play the keyboard. Later, they also added their friend Ellington Ratliff to play the drums. The quintet then started performing together as a band called R5.
The Driver Era
Following the breakdown of R5, Rocky and his brother Ross created the alternative musical band called The Driver Era and released their first single titled 'Preacher Man' in December 2018.
The duo released their first album, X, in 2019 and the second album, Girlfriend, in 2021.
'Girlfriend'
The Driver Era's sophomore album, Girlfriend, was released on 15 October 2021. Rocky and Ross wrote and produced Girlfriend throughout the coronavirus pandemic inside their Los Angeles-based home studio. Girlfriend consists of 15 songs, including 'Heart of Mine,' '#1 Fan,' 'Heaven Angel,' 'Leave Me Feeling Confident,' 'Places,' 'A Kiss,' and 'Take Me Away.'
Girlfriend marks the duo's first album in which they serve as the sole songwriters and producers. Each of them created the songs for the album with their sound and story, recollecting their experiences dating back to 2016.
"There are a lot that are inspired just by our individual journey, what we've been experiencing these last couple years," Rocky told Flaunt magazine in November 2021.
The duo went on The Girlfriend Tour across the United States in November and December 2021.
Similarly, the brothers told The Fader magazine in December 2021 that the forced pause in their musical career caused by the pandemic unexpectedly led them to their album Girlfriend's creative process. The pair reinvigorated themselves as musicians for their sophomore album as they challenged themselves to create something new and blended influence from pop, rock, and hip-hop.
Ross also told Daily Bruin newspaper in October 2021 that the duo ventured more into hip-hop and R&B since the duo's debut album and their second album revolves around love and relationships.

As of 2021, Rocky has been dating his girlfriend, actress AlexAnn Hopkins. She is best known for appearing as Trixie Dean in the CMT television series Sun Records in 2017. Hopkins also has an eponymous YouTube channel where she posts vlogs related to beauty and lifestyle.
The couple has also starred in The Driver Era's music video titled 'Places.' In an interview with Dork magazine in August 2020, Rocky said that the song describes his feelings.
"'Places' is me opening up and becoming honest with myself and with another girl in a relationship, finding new territory and new emotions and not necessarily knowing how to navigate them." He said. "That's primarily what 'Places' is. It's me opening up and being surprised by the confusion of it."
