Robert Wahlberg was born Robert G. Wahlberg in Dorchester, Massachusetts, on 18 December 1967. His mother was Alma Elaine (née Donnelly), a bank clerk and nurse's aide, and his father, Donald Edmond Wahlberg, was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and delivery driver. Robert's father passed away in 2008, aged 77, and his mother died on 18 April 2021 at age 78 following a long battle with dementia.
Robert began his professional acting career in 1998, appearing in the role of Davy Quinn in the drama film Southie. Two years later, he appeared as Lee Naldoff in the crime drama film The Exchange.
