Yang did not discover his passion for acting until performing professionally in New York's financial district when a chance encounter with an actor inspired him to pursue a similar path. After the meeting, Yang enrolled in an improv comedy class, where he soon performed on stage every week.
Yang first appeared on-screen in the short movie Wander in 2006. The following year, he was featured in another short Triple Eight Palace and one film, Algeny: The Genetic Factor.
