Ricardo Lockette’s professional football career began after he was drafted to the Seattle-based professional American football team, Seattle Seahawks, as an undrafted free agent following the end of the 2011 NFL lockout. Lockette was released and then re-signed to the team’s practice squad in September. Later, he was promoted to the active roster on 14 December 2011. He made a 44-yard reception against the San Francisco 49ers and 61-yard reception against the Arizona Cardinals during the 2011 season.
Lockette was cut from the roster in August 2012, signed to the practice squad, and ultimately released from the Seahawks on 18 September 2012.
On 25 September, he signed with the San Francisco 49ers on its practice squad. Lockette was waived by the team the following preseason in August 2013.
