‘Southland Bounty Hunters’
After YouTube reinvented its algorithmic suggestions, Mayo’s prank videos viewership decreased. As a result, he decided to change the theme of his channel. As a result of that decision, he introduced the Southland Bounty Hunters series.
The series follows Mayo’s girlfriend, Kayla, serving as a camerawoman for the video in which Mayo acts as a fugitive recovery agent or bounty hunter. He goes on to repossess illegal properties and meanwhile also tracks down fugitives who have skipped bail.
Eventually, Mayo’s popularity peaked when he collaborated with a fellow YouTube star Bounty Hunter D in 2017 for his show Southland Bounty Hunters. Together, they narrated perilous bounty hunting circumstances, which in turn gripped a lot of fans.
Mayo went on to achieve over 1 million followers not shortly after the collaboration. In addition, he invited other YouTube personalities to join him on the show, including AT, Shaundra, and Big E.

Mayo added, “The intent is to create a production, it’s not to commit a crime. And so that’s why before we even purchased the cars for this show or any equipment, we sat down with the police department and said, this is what we’d like to do. What do you think?”
In addition to that, the Sheriff Department of Oregon, where the majority of Mayo’s shooting is done, made a formal statement concerning the department and Mayo’s videos.
“We are aware of the YouTuber Patty Mayo and his activities in Deschutes County. Mr. Mayo is not a member of law enforcement, nor affiliated in any way with any sheriff’s office in Oregon. He is an actor, and the uniform he wears is a costume. Additionally, every person featured in his videos are part of his production crew or are paid actors/actresses…Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office has also expressed their concern and strongly encouraged him and other actors not to be in public locations in their costumes.”
