Potvin's career initially started from a musical background when he was a dancer and a singer. Eventually, he moved on to become an actor. Potvin first gained recognition when he played the role of Asher Jones in the 2013 movie Twist of Faith. He also appeared in the television movie Table 58, where he played the role of Logan Davis. He is also widely known as Wallace Marks in Facebook Watch's Five Points.
In 2016, Potvin appeared in the television series, Mech-X4. In the show, he played the role of Ryan Walker. The show ran till 2018. Reminiscing his decisions he said, "I got into the business through dancing. I had been dancing practically my whole life, and at my dance studio they had started an acting class. I decided to join because a bunch of my friends were doing it. Turns out… I loved it. I became infatuated with acting…I liked the idea of becoming different people and just embracing what makes you, you. I started going out for commercial auditions because of dancing and then found myself fortunate to gain representation. From there I started getting serious about more speaking roles." And, eventually, he started auditions for different commercials, landing different roles.
The year 2018 was one of the height years for Potvin's career. He appeared as wannabe Gonzo in season 2 of American Vandal. Likewise, he also appeared as Wallace in Facebook Watch's Five Points the same year. While working in Five Point, Potvin worked with Kerry Washington. Additionally, he also played the role of Ryan on the Netflix Series, Alexa, and Katie.
