Who is Nabil Karim?

Nabil Karim is an anchor born on 26 July. However, his birth year is not known; as a result, his age is also not disclosed as of now. He is of Canadian nationality.

Karim was raised in an Ismaili Muslim family by his parents as the middle child. His father was born in Uganda, and his mother is from Nairobi.

He earned a communications degree from Simon Fraser University and a broadcast journalism degree from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Karim joined TSN in 2011 as an anchor on SportsCenter and a reporter for the NHL. Karim also served as an occasional host for the NBA until 2019. 

Before that, he served for CBC, where he anchored Hockey Night in Canada Online and worked as a sports anchor for CBC News.

During Karim's time at TSN, he hosted SportsCenter and major sporting events, such as the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship, 2012 UEFA European Football Championship, and 2014 FIFA World Cup. In addition, he also hosted the 2013 and 2014 IIHF World Junior Championships, 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games, 2016 Rio Olympics Summer Games, and 2016 FIBA Americas, among others.

In 2019, Karim began working for ESPN, anchoring SportsCenter and various other studio shows.

Joined NBA TV in 2022

In 2022, Karim joined NBA TV as a host, making his on-air debut on NBA GameTime. He also took part in TNT's hockey coverage as an NHL broadcast rights-holder in the network's first year.

Turner Sports introduced Karim as their new host and reporter for the network's NBA and NHL programming on 14 January 2022.

Turner Sports is a WarnerMedia division. It delivers premium sports content across all platforms, and is well-known for its extensive partnerships with the NBA, Major League Baseball, the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship, and the National Hockey League.

In 2013, Karim and Gurdeep Ahluwalia were targeted by racist tweets while hosting SportsCentre. They received comments such as "Nabil and gurdeep on sportscentre. Just sounds like sports knowledge. #loveit," "Two arabs on tsn talking about hockey... Interesting," "Does TSN have a punjabi network now or something?," "Which one is harold and which one is kumar?," "Awww the girlfriend must have bought me punjabi sports channel. Lover o so much. Suck it," and more.

However, some of them apologized for their comments and said, "Sorry if I offended anyone with my Sports Centre Tweet. It was not intended to be racial at all."

He Shares Two Kids With His Wife

Karim is married to Nasreen, with whom he shares two children.

On 14 June 2020, Karim celebrated the anniversary with his wife and posted it on Instagram. He wrote, "Cheers to the one anniversary I'll never forget."

Karim's wife, Nasreen, is active on Instagram and usually shares family-friendly meals and kitchen tips. She also wished him on father's day on Instagram on 17 June 2019 with the caption, "Couldn't feel more blessed this Father's Day! Hope all the dads are having a great day! ."
