Who is Mike Morse?

Mike Morse is an American attorney. He started his career in law by establishing the Mike Morse Law Firm in 1995. The law firm eventually became the largest personal injury law firm in Michigan. Since the establishment of the law firm, it has accumulated more than one billion dollars for victims of auto, truck, and motorcycle accidents. 

Morse is also a host of a weekly podcast, Open Mike. He has also co-authored a book titled 'Fireproof: A Five-Step Model to Take Your Law Firm from Unpredictable to Wildly Profitable.'

Early Life and Education

Michael J. Morse, alias Mike Morse, was born on 11 September 1967 in Detroit, Michigan. His father, Joel Morse, was an attorney who died in 1990 at age 49 from a heart attack. His mother, Susan "Sue" Morse, is a financial planner. 

While participating in the Open Mike podcast in November 2019, Morse's mother described an incident that happened when Morse was eight years old. He went to work for a day at a drug store owned by his friend's family. At the end of the day, the friend who brought Morse home appreciated him that he would achieve success in any field he enters in the future. Morse used to go downtown to sell Chipwiches in the park as a child.

Later, Morse graduated with a BBA degree in Business Administration and Management, General in 1989 from the University of Arizona. He then earned a Juris Doctor degree in 1992 from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. During his college years in law school, he worked as a waiter at Meriwether's in Southfield, Michigan.  

Career

Morse founded the boutique law firm, Mike Morse Law Firm, at Southfield, Michigan, in September 1995, within three years of graduating from law school. Due to his hard work and dedication, the law firm grew to become Michigan's largest personal injury law firm. It has grown to 150 employees and has served 25,000 clients since its inception. Mike Morse Law Firm has so far accumulated more than one billion dollars for victims of auto, truck, and motorcycle accidents. 

Some of the latest cases the law firm solved include winning a $716,000 verdict against Allstate Insurance Company for a car accident victim in July 2021 and obtaining a $4.6 million wrongful death settlement in August 2021 for the family of a man killed in a Michigan car accident in March 2019. 

The law firm also specializes in dog bites, and social security disability (SSD) claims. 

Book

The attorney became an author when he co-authored a book titled 'Fireproof: A Five-Step Model to Take Your Law Firm from Unpredictable to Wildly Profitable' with John Nachazel, COO of Mike Morse Law Firm. The book was published on 23 June 2020. The official website of Mike Morse Law Firm has mentioned that Morse was named Amazon's #1 best-selling author.

Podcast

On 18 November 2019, Morse started hosting Open Mike, a weekly podcast focused on providing truthful information about legal topics. The podcast also features attorneys, activists, athletes, experts, entrepreneurs, journalists, motivational speakers, musicians, and many more. Morse has aired more than 115 episodes as of September 2021.

Charity Works

A lawyer, author, and podcaster engages in various charity works. He founded a program, Project Backpack, that provides students with free backpacks, school supplies, and classroom essentials. The program has been running for the eighth consecutive year. As per its website, Project Backpack will provide 200,000 backpacks with school supplies to metro Detroit students by the end of 2021.

Additionally, Morse established the Joel Morse Endowed Scholarship for Wayne State Law students to support diversity and racial equity within the Detroit community and honor his late father. 

On 7 December 2020, Morse announced that he would be donating $25,000 for students attending the second or third year of law school, who graduated from a historically black college or university, and who attended Detroit high school. 

On 12 September 2021, Mike Morse Law Firm teamed up with animal welfare organization Michigan Humane to host the 'Meet Your Best Friend' adoption event with over a hundred pets.

Awards and Recognitions

Due to his professional achievement, Morse was recognized as one of 'America's 50 Most Influential Trial Lawyers 2020' by The National Law Journal and The Trial Lawyer magazine. He was also named 'Leader in the Law' by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. Morse was ranked as 'Top Rated Lawyer' by a rating service, Super Lawyer. Furthermore, he was named one of DBusiness magazine's 'Top Lawyers for 2022.'

Morse has also earned multiple 'Golden Gavel Awards' for his award-winning television commercials. He was also featured on NBC's Today show and in publications like Huffington Post and Lawyers Weekly. He also frequently appears as a legal advisor in metro Detroit's local news broadcasts.
