Divorce

After more than a decade of marriage, the couple announced their separation in 2018, citing "irreconcilable differences." However, their split was rumored to be because of Alonso's acts of infidelity while still married. Still, she outright refuted the allegations through her Instagram post dated 7 May 2018, stating, "I absolutely reject and deny since this never happened and they are damaging my reputation by discrediting my person." She also mentioned the legal aspect of the rumor through her post, writing, "I am taking action on the matter with my lawyers, since there are NO people close to us who could affirm what never happened, This is dirty and I will not allow it."

Alonso had even held a news conference to debunk rumors about their divorce and claimed merely that "Lupe and I separated because we had problems, a lot of problems."

Additionally, during an interview with Mamas Latina in 2018, Alonso had also listed financial reasons as one of the reasons for their divorce, claiming she had already signed a prenuptial agreement. Things between the ex-couple were said to deteriorate as Alonso began earning more in the household.

Nonetheless, both Lupillo and Alonso built their respective love interest shortly after their divorce. Lupillo is already married to Giselle Soto.
