Amidst his brief social media reputation, he has also sparked significant debate, with some even suggesting that he should be canceled. In December 2019, he was bashed for uttering a racist slur in one video, and he was also rumored deceased the same year. While some people believed the rumors, Mattia continued to publish content on his TikTok profile, indicating that he was still alive.

Polibio has been connected to several TikTok stars, but Jenna Hablitz was his only known girlfriend. However, he revealed he was no longer in a romantic connection with Hablitz on a live stream in the autumn of 2019 and allegedly remarked that she was "manipulative."

He spoke little about their separation after that, but in January 2020, he was linked to another TikTok star, Cynthia Parker, who previously dated singer Chase Hudson (in 2019). However, even though Mattia and Cynthia were sighted together on social media, the two never acknowledged their relationship.

Polibio posted a Q&A video on his YouTube page on 23 April 2020, in which he addressed various fan questions, including those concerning his dating life. One fan inquired about the backstories of all the girls with whom he had spoken.

Polibio acknowledged the question by clarifying that he would reveal nothing about his ex but only about the girls with whom he was in a talking phase. "I'm not going to name my exes, [but] who I've talked to," he remarked. 

"Cynthia [Parker] — we commented on each other's TikToks. Then she DM'd me, and I answered, [then we] started Snapchatting, started FaceTiming. [We] met at Social Bash, whatever there happened, and then we talked and talked until we had to end things on February 13 or 12.... That's basically the story behind that," he added.

Mattia also talked about his relationship with Lena Allison. "Next is Lena [Allison]. We had each other on Snapchat around November or December [of 2019]. We used to slide up on each other's stories...." he stated in his video. "We started Snapchatting constantly and flirting a lot," he added.

However, their connection gradually devolved as the pandemic, and the compulsory self-quarantine regimen created a barrier between the two, which Mattia dreaded. They later agreed to be only friends, according to his statement on the video.

As of the present, he is believed to be single.
