Weir played the role of Lonnie Watley in 'Billions' for 17 episodes from 2016 to 2019. It is a drama series about New York high finance power politics. In the show, US Attorney Chuck Rhoades, played by Paul Giamatti, and hedge fund king Bobby Axelrod, played by Damian Lewis, go on a collision course, using all of his wits and power and clout to outmaneuver the other.


Malachi Weir was an actor well known for his role in Showtime's financial drama, Billions, as Lonnie Watley.

Malachi Weir was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He attended high school in Massachusetts and has a background in sociology and psychology.

Weir debuted his acting career as Bill in the 1996 movie Bugged. Following his appearance in the film, he was featured in two shorts, The Sight in 1998 and The Window in 2000. In the same year, he also starred in the long-running TV series Law & Order for five episodes until 2010.

In 2001, Weir landed the role of Tommy Epps in the TV series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He appeared in two TV shows in 2004: The Jury and Rescue Me. After two years, he was featured in another TV series called Love Monkey

Weir had a recurring role of Mohammed in the 2007 TV series titled The Naked Brothers Band. He appeared on the show for seven episodes. After that, the actor went on to star in several series like New Amsterdam (2008), Michael Stahl-David: Behind the Star (2008), Blue Bloods (2010), Running Wilde (2011), and more.

Weir made small appearances in movies and TV shows before finally landing his breakthrough role in the 2016 TV series Billions as Loonie Watley. He continued the part from 2016 until 2019.

Billions debuted on Showtime on 17 January 2016 and have aired six seasons. The show's sixth season premiered on 23 January 2022.

Weir recently appeared in the 2022 movie Brazen, an adaptation of Nora Roberts' romance thriller book 'Brazen Virtue.' Monika Mitchell directed the film, and Weir played the role of Ben alongside Alyssa Milano as Grace and Sam Page as Ed. The film was released on 13 January 2022 on Netflix.

Brazen follows the story of Grace, played by Alyssa Milano, a mystery writer, and crime expert, who returns to her family's home in Washington, DC when her sister calls her. Unfortunately, her sister is executed, and her secret history as a webcam performer comes to light. Following the murder, Grace ignores detective Ed's, played by Sam Page warnings, and becomes involved in the case.

The film also features Colleen Wheeler as Senator Baxter, Lossen Chambers as Stacey White, and Emilie Ullerup as Kathleen.

In an interview with Beautiful Ballad in January 2022, Weir talked about how he got attached to the movie after auditioning and felt "extra joy" after getting selected for the part. He also mentioned that his background in psychology and sociology also helped him in his performance for the movie.
