Lucy Robson is a British-born social media golf influencer well known for her training and fashion posts.

Who Is Lucy Robson?

Lucy Robson is a UK-born collegiate golfer and social media personality who gained prominence for her training videos and fashion posts on Instagram. She has almost a million followers on the platform as of 13 August 2021. 

Robson was named the ‘Player of the Year for the two consecutive years by the Treasure Coast Golf Association in 2012 and 2013. She also represented The University of South Florida (USF) in college before moving to California Polytechnic (Cal Poly) to finish her education.

Early Age & Education 

Born on 10 March 1995, in London, England, to Nick and Jayne Robson, Robson has a sister named Harriet Robson. She started attending school in Surrey when she was five years old. Her family moved to Florida, the USA, in 2005, when she was ten years old, after getting a Green Card.

Golf Career 

At 10, she moved to the USA, picked up golf, and began competing in JPT, SFPGA, and FJT competitions across Florida. She competed in Florida Junior Tour and FWSGA events and also played in national and international tournaments. She also represented the South Team in the Junior Florida Cup twice.

In 2011, she led her high school squad to a second-place finish at State. It was the best finish the school had ever had. Her GHIN handicap was 1.1, and she was ranked 589 nationally in all age categories on the Junior Golf Scoreboard. 

In addition, Robson was ranked in 11th position and was also named MVP in each of her years in high school. At the end of 2011, she was even named Treasure Coast Golfer of the Year by Scripps Newspapers. Robson was trained at Hammock Creek G&CC in Florida by Martin Hall of Golf Channel’s School Of Golf and Rod Curl Jr. of Hammock Creek G&CC. 

At 18, Robson earned a scholarship to play on the USF (University of South Florida) women’s golf team in 2013. From 2013 to 2014, as a freshman, she competed in five tournaments with a low round of 74 at the Cardinal Cup. She had an average of 80.7 strokes over 14 rounds. Later as a sophomore at South Florida, she competed in two events, averaging 80.8 strokes over five rounds. Her university team was ranked first on the 2015 Hurricane Collegiate Tour. 

After spending two years at USF, the golfer headed west to the Pacific to attend Cal Poly. As a junior in her first year at Cal Poly, she took part in six tournaments and averaged 79.8 strokes over 16 rounds. The year turned out to be Cal Poly’s highest finish and was a tie for 23rd place in the Big West Conference Championship, which helped the team finish second. 

Later, Robson shot a 72 in the Bruin-Wave Invitational, which UCLA and Pepperdine co-hosted at the San Luis Obispo Country Club. She graduated from Cal Poly and returned to Florida in 2017. 

Previously, Robson was named the Treasure Coast’ Player Of The Year’ for two consecutive years in 2012 and 2013. She attended Jensen Beach High School in Florida, graduated in 2013, and earned 18 credits for college in dual enrollment. She was also a member of the National Art Honor Society. 

Social Media Career

Robson has been actively posting golf training videos, workout videos, and fashion posts on social media. Although she rarely competes professionally, she still maintains an active lifestyle. She uploads golf tricks and tips to help her followers on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok. 

As of 13 August 2021, she has over 962k followers on Instagram, around 1.2 million followers on Facebook, and over 904k followers on the TikTok account. She also has an OnlyFans account, where she shares golf training videos, trick shots, and other exclusive content that aren’t available anywhere else to her followers. She also has a Cameo account, where she interacts with fans and creates videos. 

Endorsements

Robson is closely affiliated with Swag Golf—a company that manufactures precision milled putters and funky covers—and energy drinks brand, BANG ENERGY. She endorses the companies’ products and models for their Instagram profiles on occasion. 

She has also collaborated with the global fashion brand Fashion Nova frequently. The brand is one of the popular online retailers of ladies’ fashion. In addition, in April 2021, she collaborated with Italian pasta manufacturer De Cecco to commemorate National Carbonara Day.

Ambassador of The Golf Trust

In April 2019, she announced that she became an ambassador for The Golf Trust charity on her Instagram. She captioned, “I feel so honoured to announce that I am an ambassador for [thegolftrust], an organization for which I am very passionate about.” She added, “So inspired by all these guys today - Golf is for everyone, everywhere - all that is needed is a chance and an opportunity. It’s all about growing the game and awareness that disability is not an inability! 

According to The Golf Trust, it is a team of professional golfers and enthusiasts who have worked “to show how we can harness the power of golf as a driver of social mobility and change.”
