In 1993, she became the Chairman of the Board and manager of LBJ Asset Management Partners, their family office, and the Chairman of the Board of BusinesSuites. LBJ is what her father, Lyndon B. Johnson, would be often referred to as. With her position on the Board of Directors of the LBJ Foundation and her work with multiple civic boards, Luci helped raise funds for The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and the American Heart Association. Additionally, she is the trustee of Boston University and is a member of the advisory board of the Center for Battered Women.
Wedding and Children
Luci Baines Johnson tied the knot with Patrick John Nugent on 6 August 1966 when she was 19. Nugent was an Air National Guardsman. The couple married in front of 700 guests at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. They have four children together.
Patrick Lyndon is the oldest among the four. He was born in 1967 is now working as a lawyer and a pilot in San Antonio. Their second child, Nicole Marie, was born in 1970. Rebekah Johnson, their third child, was born in 1974, and Claudia Taylor Nugent, the youngest among the four, was born in 1976. Unfortunately, the marriage between Luci and Patrick ended in August 1979 and was annulled by the Catholic Church.
Luci married again on 3 March 1984 to Ian J. Turpin. Turpin was born in 1944 and is a Scottish-born Canadian financier. He is the President of LBJ Asset Management Partners at LBJ Ranch. Johnson has a stepson from her marriage with Ian Turpin.
