Since its inception in December 2011, Leif Babin has been serving as the President and co-founder of Echelon Front. Who is Leif Babin?

Babin is a former US Navy officer. He served a thirteen years stint in the Navy as Surface Warfare Officer for the first four years, from 1998 to 2002, and SEAL officer for the rest, from 2002 until 2011. 

Leaving his maritime duties, Babin co-founded a leadership consulting firm called Echelon Front in 2011 and has been serving as the President ever since then. Besides, he has co-authored a few books, namely, 'Extreme Ownership: How US Navy SEALs Lead and Win' (2017) and 'The Dichotomy of Leadership: Balancing the Challenges of Extreme Ownership to Lead and Win' (2018).

Early Life and Education

Leif Babin was born in Woodville, Texas, to Roxanne Babin and Dr. Brian Babin. His father works as a private dentist in Woodville.

He did his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from United States Naval Academy and graduated in 1998.

SEAL Team

After serving the Navy as Surface Warfare Officer for the first four years, from 1998 to 2002, Babin, from 2002 to 2011, served as a SEAL officer of the US Navy. He was a squad leader of the force, Task Unit Bruiser of SEAL Team Three. Along with the US Army's 1st Armored Division's Ready First Brigade, he organized and led key combat actions in the Battle of Ramadi. Task Unit Bruiser became the Iraq War's most distinguished combat support unit. After returning from the Iraq War, Babin became a leadership trainer for the Navy officers who completed the SEAL training. He restructured the leadership quality of SEAL officers to meet the demands of combat.  

His last deployment was in Iraq, where he led a Special Operations Task Force as Operations Officer and Executive Officer of the SEAL team. He was awarded a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, and a Purple Heart for his service in the Navy. He permanently departed from his maritime duty in 2011 and co-founded a leadership development firm, Echelon Front.

Echelon Front

Since its inception in December 2011, Babin has been serving as the President and co-founder of Echelon Front. 

Adhering to a plethora of roles and responsibilities as a leadership instructor, speaker, and strategic counselor to clients, Babin thrives in assisting individuals and groups in developing, building, and leading high-performance winning teams.

Babin, along with Jocko Willink, has co-authored The New York Times no. 1 best-selling book, 'Extreme Ownership: How US Navy SEALs Lead and Win' in 2017, 'The Dichotomy of Leadership: Balancing the Challenges of Extreme Ownership to Lead and Win' in 2018, and 'Responsabilidade extrema' in 2021. Furthermore, he has an audiobook named 'Mai dire ma' (2019) under his credit.

Personal Life

Babin got married to the Fox News anchor Jenna Lee on 3 July 2011 at Old Glory Ranch in Wimberley, Texas. They had shared pink margaritas on their first date. To repaint the picture, the couple decided to serve frozen pink margaritas from a margarita machine to the present guests at their wedding.
